For relaxing, I liked Megano beach better than Varadero and Cayo Santa Maria - it was very calm and shallow. Ensenachos beach had waves which was a nice change. It was hard to get a palapa. They REALLY need to clear towels off of palapas after an hour or two. The adult pool was really nice and drink service was good. We spent most of our time there and never had a problem getting a chair. The buffet food was good and there was a lot of variety. One night they had lobster tails and they were really good.   "Just returned from our second stay at the Iberostar Esenachos. We stayed in Nov. '11, when Iberostar was just in the process of taking the resort over and making major changes and additions. The new additions include opening the Megano Beach, including the beach grill, beach bar and washrooms. N..."one of this was there a year and a half ago! They also opened the section of the resort where you can stay with children. This area includes one of the specialty restaurants. The resort is beautiful and well kept. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The rooms (in the Spa area) are large and well appointed. The two beaches are absolutely beautiful. Ensenachos is a van ride away or you can walk if it isn't too hot and it is not as busy as the Megano. There is a great beach bar on site but unfortunately there is no food so you have to come back for lunch. Megano is much closer and has a beach grill and bar so it is by far the most popular.
