  "This newly built house is a short drive from the lovely town of Koroni. From the main road there is a scenic downhill road to the beach and the house is somewhere in the middle of that road. In this very large and green area I think there are only 5 or 6 houses so don't expect to see a lot of neighb..."ours, it's quite remote. The house has a brilliant seaview which alone is reason enough to stay here. The house is very clean and has all the amenities you need. The main beach is a 10 minute walk or a few minutes drive from the house. Since it's off the beaten track there are few people here, but there is a good restaurant which serves the catch of the day and, of course, souvlaki and other Greek food. If you like to play golf, this course is a must, just check costanavarino.com. Golf is not popular in Greece so you are practically alone on this excellent course which is a 45 minute drive from the house. Overall I would say the Olive Grove is the best value for money in the Peloponnesos. " More >

  "We cannot rate Gargarou highly enough. We had a wonderful time going on lovely walks, swimming in the sea and eating great meals (lamb kleftiko was our favourite though virtually every meal was a delight) at Gianni and Fouli's at Harakopio. We often also enjoyed pre-meal drinks at Cafe Art, sat amo..."ngst all the friendly locals. Koroni is a lovely harbour town about one hour and ten minutes walk away (along the path that follows the coast). Our favourite restaurant there was the Parthenon, particularly its set menu featuring grilled dorado, swordfish steak or lemon chicken. The castle and monastery demand extra visits too. Most of all we enjoyed sitting outside of Villa Sunrise taking in the view of the Taygetos mountains situated on the Mani opposite us, with a glass of wine and a bowl of peanuts, the light, the scenery, the perfume of the surrounding herb bushes.   "The other reviews sum it all up - this is a lovely place to stay. The villas are stylish with lovely finishes. They have wonderful views over towards Koroni in one direction and across the sea to the Mani in the other. Each villa has a terrace for eating outside, and the kitchen is well provided ..."with equipment. Michael and Maria were extremely helpful from the booking process to arrival and beyond. They are full of advice about the area and a genuine love of Greece. There are plenty of interesting and beautiful places to see nearby (Ancient Messene is a must), as well as some nice beaches, and it is also fun to be, temporarily, part of the local community in Harakopio, the nearby village. The food is a big plus - they make their own olive oil, and grow their own vegetables, which are all readily available if you want to self-cater. Maria prepares delicious meals in the evening if you want to be pampered and stay put rather than go to Harakopio or Koroni to eat. As others have ... " More >
