The check in was a little lengthy and the room didn't have the 4 posted we expected from the photos - but was still nice with a balcony and pool view.   "The hotel got a great face lift and looks like a resort. The pool area is nice the morning buffet is great lots of fruit. You are isolated from the people of girardot and flandes(I am not sure) the famous walking bridge spaning the rio magdalena, there are rail tracks on the bridge, once in flandes ..."whole bunch of restaurants that offer fish mostly river fish like bagre or catfish and Morjarra almost like red snapper. So back to the hotel it is great to relax by the pool, need a cool drink, they have massage service tho I couldn't take advantage of it, If you have time from your travels its about 2 hrs from bogota depends on the traffic. I was there with my wife and kids and we all loved it. Both relaxing and fun. Located on a hill in the center o..."f town it keeps you close to "reality" and yet isolated from noise and crowds. A true oasis. Perfect for a weekend with guaranteed tropical heat away from Bogotá or as a departing point for day trips to other places of interest in the region (like Piscilago in Melgar). We tried both roads from Bogotá (Soacha-fusagasugá-Melgar driving down, and Tocaima - Anapoima - La Mesa on our way back). I strongly recommend the latter.
