Run by an Australian, Ezo has an amazing selection of very fresh seafood, simply cooked. If you are into oysters, scallops, fish, etc... you shoudl try it. Seating is on high stools, so it's not for a long evening.

The freshest seafood I have ever eaten. The owner, James, drives all the way to Sapporo to choose and buy the seafood himself. you can really taste the difference.
Hi Sharon,
Thanks so much for your positive review. I appreciate very much that *you* appreciate the efforts I go to in driving to Sapporo to source our seafood. It is indeed difficult to get out of bed at 5am and drive through often blizzard snow to Sapporo (5 hour round trip) but it allows me to get first pick...

Expected the seafood in Japan to be top notch but this place turned out to be pretty average and pricey too...
Hi Andy,
I'm glad that you had a fantastic time in Niseko, but sorry that you left Ezo Seafoods with only an average impression of Japanese seafood. I would be interested to hear any detailed comments you had about anything that stood out as average or expensive. We do our very best to keep our seafood fresh with only high...

This place is an experience in itself. Inviting and friendly and the food is AMAZING!
Went here during the off season when a lot of restaurants in the village can seem a bit quiet for what you would expect in a ski resort. However that was not the case when we walked into Ezo Seafood and it was probably a good thing it was the off season as we hadn't bothered to make a reservation...

Having read all the great reviews on TripAdvisor, I was expecting great things and was actually slightly disappointed. It was certainly a cozy environment although we were in the back room which lacked the atmosphere as the front room. The food was good but I was expecting better. We had the main seafood platter between 4 people which while provided...

Hello Takalansi from Singapore,
Thanks for your overall positive review. I'm sorry that you left slightly disappointed.
Thank you for your constructive comments about our Seafood Platter and also the atmosphere of the back room - both issues admittedly require attention. But if you come back to Niseko, and to Ezo Seafoods, I hope you will come in again. I...

John Toland recommended this tiny, tucked away seafood bar. The oysters were second to none!
Dear Trip Advisor readers: For the record, the "John Toland" mentioned here is the manager of NISEKO BOUTIQUES, a luxury boutique ski accommodation provider in Niseko, that works closely with NISEKO GOURMET - a catering outfit in Niseko that is also very highly rated on Trip Advisor. (PS: Bronwyn E, thanks very much for rating Ezo Seafoods, please introduce yourself...

The seafood is fresh fresh fresh & delicious. Most is sourced locally on Hokkaido from the very cold waters. Atmosphere is wonderful, and champagnes wine and beer selection caters for all budgets as well as being value for money. Highly recommend!
During 10 days in Niseko and 6 meals out, we ate here 3x. We should have eaten here even more. The seafood is perfection, the atmosphere fun, the owner charming. My wife adores seafood and if I let her, she'd probably move in. It is simply superb.
A friend told me to go here after he went. I poped in for an early dinner which gave me time to have a great chat with James, the owner.
He keeps the menu simple, which is always a good thing of you have great ingredients...which he does.
Half a dozen oysters, a king crab leg and some clam chowder.....all...
