Every time i am in phuket i have to eat in the red onion on patak rd (karon) the food is very good , but it does get very busy and crowded so be prepared 2 wait a while but it is worth it in the end just sit there chillax and watch the world go by .

Fabulous food, particularly the curries!! Get there early in the evening to get a seat, gets very busy and with people lining up outside to get in, makes you feel you need to eat and leave - but the food was great and reasonably priced.

This was easily the busiest restaurant on the street while we were there in 10 days. I read about it before we left so one night waited on the chairs out the front for about 10 minutes until a table was available. Great food, at a very reasonable price. Reasonably large helpings. Enough choice for vegetarians (like me)...and had non thai food for kids as well (pasta). A popular choice for travellers to eat at, it is very quick with your meals and the turn over is very fast. Some people have to wait to be seated as it does draw a crowd. The prices are very reasonable but if you have to wait I would suggest to take a punt with the many other restaurants on... More

Decided to try out the food at Red Onion since it was pretty crowded. Loved the pineapple fried rice! The grilled fish we had was really fresh too. If you're looking for local cuisine at affordable prices, Red Onion's the place to go!

Went twice, very popular, you may have to wait for a table. Service not as friendly as other places but the food was great.

rats wandering around the restaurant floor as we were walking past- totally put me off eating there despite the great reviews- had some friends eat there last night and said the food was less than average

Cheapest meal by far, and cannot fault the quality of any meals we ordered !
