Confused really ,seeing as pasta is one of the cheapest foods in the world ,how can you justify these prices, it's an ok venue ,but totally overpriced.
The pointing dog has a friendly atmosphere and the staff are always great, but the food is nothing special, and slightly pricey for what it is in my opinion! It can sometimes be a bit pretentious because of the clientele! However, It is lovely sitting outside in the summer as there is a large outside area that catches the sun... More
Went for a meal for two on a Saturday evening. Seated immediately. Food was a short wait once ordered. Given bar snacks whilst we were awaiting our starters. Food was excellent. Only minus would be the price. Slightly too expensive. £80.00 for two. Is a little too much as only one was drinking alcohol.

I don't dislike Pointing Dog. The food is ok and the service is friendly enough. I just think that given the price - you'd expect more.
Visited today with my family and can only say this is a very nice place to eat. They cater for everyone and my 2 yr old grand daughter was made welcome by the staff with no fuss. The Sunday lunch order for 5 was excellent, piping hot and lots of it. Would recommend a visit.
Had my 40th Birthday Party at the PG on 25th Oct. Had a nice meal before hand (although set menu was very limited) and about 60 guests for reception drinks and canapés. Liam our drinks guy for the night was great, atmosphere was amazing, no doubt helped by the live jazz band. Altogether a fabulous place with a touch of... More
As someone who eats out on a regular basis I find it's the little things that make turn a good meal into a great meal. Visited The Pointing Dog today and ordered Fish and Chips. For me a portion of really nice mushy peas makes or breaks this dish unfortunately the mushy peas were horrible. Kind of killed it for... More
Visited on Sunday 27th October 2013. There were fourteen of us plus a child. The food was superb and the customer service excellent. The staff could not have been more helpful, and considering how many of us there were we did not have to wait an age for the food. For a big family get-together it was an ideal place,... More
