When it opened, Castas Y Tal served wonderful food at great prices but since the chef has left (rumour has it she will open a new place soon) the quality of the food has deteriorated and what was once one of the best places in Havana to eat is now one of the worst. Dont waste your money, avoid this... More

I first ate here in Nov '12, the food and service was excellent by Cuban standards. The prices were very good along with the food. when I came back in Feb'13, I was truly disappointed. For whatever reason, new owners took over and raised the prices to the sky. The shrimp appetizer was expensive for the size of shrimp and... More

One of the most delightful dining experiences in terms of the setting, hosts and menu. We felt welcomed into this beautiful home - transported really to a view of what the future of Cuba will be. The personal touches - from the sunflower painted wall to the mixture of antique and modern furniture - created an elegant and warm setting.... More

From the moment we arrived we were treated like honored guests in our hosts home. Located on the 11th floor of a high rise apartment house this paladar has only four tables. Tables on the balcony have a wonderful view of Havana. For a restaurant of this size it had an extensive menu of two appetizers and four main course... More

Told that paladares are restaurants in someone's home, we made our reservation to try one. The stark entrance of this high rise building did not prepare us for the beautifully decorated apartment, with sunset views, wonderful food, full menu, charming waiter....a perfect evening.

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation from one of the hotel staff. We were not sure what to expect, considering it is a restaurant in someones apartment. It was amazing! The food, service and experience was the best we have had after 10 months of travel through, Europe, central and north America. If you don't get to this... More

I really think this restaurant should be rated higher than it is. The food was excellent, I had lobster and my wife had rolled pork. For dessert we shared pumpkin pie a sort of custard like dish which the owner said was handed down from his grandmother. There are only 4 tables in this restaurant which is on the enclosed... More

One of the most delicious and not too expensive "paladares" in Havana. They offer two menus: one in the afternoon, the other in the evenings.

If you are in Havana, I definitely recommend you eat at Castas & Tal. Like all of Havana's paladars, the food is great. What really set apart this particular one was the comfortable, homey atmosphere and super friendly staff. I had a dinner there with some friends on New Year's Eve and despite having to work, the waiters were oozing... More

we visited the restaurant one night because we were curious of the lights flickering on the 17th? floor. that night the atmosphere was wonderful. a party was living and they said "the food is excellent." so we made an appointment for next night. we were greeted by gio, a very friendly maitre d' who happened to double as our bartender....
