Went with a business associate. We ordered ahead. Food was ready within 5 minutes of getting there.. Had Pot fish and a johnny cake $9, (her recommendation). Was good definitely different. Sat outside at a picnic table. No inside to eat just patio. It's where the locals eat-also have lots of chicken dishes.. Give it a try.

We love eating at local places and this was the best pace we found. The menu is limited and they do run out of specials sometimes early in the day. They close at 6pm, so try to go by earlier in the day for the best choices. We had the roasted chicken and the mahi-mahi fish cooked with a butter... More

The roasted chicken was excellent. Very moist and tasty. I was surprised they had a little container of bar-b-que sauce but it did add a nice kick to the chicken. The Johnny cakes were a real treat. You might want to stop by on the way to the airport and grab a meal and eat at the airport after you... More

The chicken and pork are amazing but dont be afraid to branch out to the crucian specials. Great place for tourists to get a better feel for local culture and food.

The best roasted chicken on the island, the seasoned rice is as good as grandma's. I love the cole slaw. And the roast pork....Everyone eats there - law enforcement, politicians, tourists, wapa workers, everybody. You'll know it when you see the full parking lot.

Found this place on St Croix magazine must place to visit. You must get there before 4:30pm or order and pick it up at the bar after "shack" closes (the bar patrons will tell you how). We got there late the first time and they were closed! Great food and they give you a ton (we ate leftovers for lunch... More

Cheap, tasty local favorite. Don't be scared off by its "Shack" look. The food is very good and very indicative of Crucian taste. Eat a johnny cake for me!

We had been to several occasions where people brought delicious food and found they had bought the food at the Chicken Shack. Outstanding Johnny Cakes and chicken.

OMG, this was the most difficult restaurant to find even with a GPS!. No one publishes addresses to their businesses it seems but they do give the telephone numbers. We were so lost and ended up near Captain Morgan's Rum distillery. We called the restaurant from there to get directions and they did not know where Captain Morgan's was! Long... More
