My husband and I ate at Fatty Crab last week and the food was just amazing. We did a few small plates - great green mango papaya salad was great with a slight kick, the Mahi-mahi sliders were outstanding, and the pork BBQ sliders and vegetable tempura were wonderful as well. The drinks are really different and unique from what... More

Starting with Island Tings which were awesome with pickled pineapple garnishes, my husband and I ordered 3 smaller plates and 1 larger plate to share. The fish sliders made with fresh mahi mahi were terrific. We also loved the vegetable tempura. I could have skipped the crab and conch fritters as they were a bit too chewy, but our large... More

We avoided the pricey restaurant scene on St John altogether and really enjoyed the inventive food choices and service at the Fatty Crab. A few locals may dis it because it is NYC owned but we loved it... Actually went twice for drinks and small plates...

We visited St. John in April. This was THE restaurant on the island. The pad Tay is amazing and d French toast (Sunday branch) is amazing

Got some late night apps here and was pleasantly surprised with the food. Everything in St. John is expensive dining wise, this was perhaps a little better value than most. Very creative food in a modern-ish but attractive setting.

There are so many things to love about this restaurant - the staff is so nice, the food is both creative and delicious, and the vibe is super relaxed. But what we loved the most is that the Fatty Crab folks clearly LOVE food. They create amazing, complex dishes. They spend time explaining the food when it arrives, and are... More

The most unique food! Amazing. Papaya salad and the indonesian fried rice were so delicious that I'm still thinking about them. We wanted to go back a second night on our trip. Delicious!

Located across the street from the local Curz Bay baseball field and on the edge of Wharfside Village, Fatty Crab doesn't exactly look worth a visit. If you go, however, the food more than makes up for its location. The fare, as described at its website, is Malaysian-inspired. While I do not know much about Malaysian cuisine, everything we ate... Great mahi over curry noodles and shrimp fried rice and great service. Just barely off the beaten path, but great atmosphere and unique menu.

We were excited to find a new restaurant to try on our recent trip and we were thrilled with the food, service, and ambience at Fatty Crab. If you enjoy different types of food and are a bit adventurous, don't miss this gem.
