Wonderful views, balcony surrounded by aguave and succulent plants, real find we spotted from the templo mayor while visiting, beautiful planting around the trendy and great value place. Great shame it closes at 18.00, no dinner available.

We took our family downtown Mexico City for a sightseeing tour of the Zocalo, its surrounding monuments and archeological sites, planning a 2 o'clock lunch at El Mayor restaurant. Its located on the roof top of the Porrua library, overlooking the Templo Mayor ruins, with a fabulous view of other "el centro" landmarks such as the National Palace and The...

This is place is kind of hidden, but you'll be glad when you find it. Excellent food and view. I ordered the Arrachera steak... wow Service was OK, prices were fair, portions were on the small side, but overall a great place to have lunch.
This little restaurant reached by taking elevator in the libreria la porueria ( sp?) behind the templo mayor is lovely for an afternoon break, a drink, and a great view of the templo. The guacamole is good and the cheese plate is great for a nibble. While away the afternoon just soaking in the atmosphere that is Mexico DF.
We went to El Mayor for a drink on a Sunday afternoon. The view overlooking the Templo Mayor and the back of the Cathedral is spectacular. The margarita was delicious too!
Stumbled upon this place by accident and WOW it was spectacular. Great food and even better view. A MUST
There is a cafe and a restaurant here. They have fantastic views of the archeological site and it's worth going up just for that. We had lunch two days running in the cafe. Excellent soup, guacomales and toasted sandwiches. The service is rather slow as they have one or two waiters in the cafe ,which is busy ,but half a...

El Mayor is located on the rooftop of one of Mexico´s most ancient and well known libraries: Porrua. El Mayor features Mexican fussion contemporary cuisine. It might be crowded specially on weekends, perfect for families or friends. Service is good but, when crowded it´s a mess. The restaurant offers a terrace which overlooks the Templo Mayor, which was the most...

Following an enjoyable afternoon at Templo Mayor we enjoyed a late lunch with a view of the ruins. Top marks for the view, setting, service, food and price. First on our list of dining recommendation in centro d.f.
