We asked our taxi driver to take us to a great local place. He took us to El Moro and waited for us to eat since it was not in a familiar area. The fresh food was excellent! Great drinks and staff. The prices and portions were very good. My husband and I shared the recommended sampler platter for 2... More

El Moro was a wonderful dining experiance. Ray, our waiter, was friendly, efficient & guided us in great choices. It was suggested to us by some friends we made & was a fabulous choice. Its more of a downhome restaurant with delicious food. You could tell most of the diners were repeat as the were greeted like family. We liked... More

I walked from the center square with my son. The food was worth the walk. I had the Poc chuc which was good but my son had the Milanesa Yucateca which was amazing. His serving was huge and at 850 pesos actually good enough for 2. When we asked to have his leftovers boxed they also added more rice and... More

We walked to El Moro from the Blue Angel resort and while the distance was not a problem, finding it in the confusing side streets was VERY challenging. However, once we figured out that there are multiple streets with the same label and found the place we were very happy with our meal and the excellent service. Save yourself the... More

We were looking for something Mayan, as opposed to strictly Mexican, and our hotel staff directed us here. We were a little leery at first, as it is a ways away from the usual tourist area, but Raymond the owner put us at ease, We were treated as honored guests, and he accommodated our vegetarian needs. The food is mildly... More

this is a great dining experience in Cozumel. if you like Mayan style seafood, Mom does it right!! A family run restaurant at it's best. Don't expect any special tourist treatment, because you won't get it here!! You will get the same wonderful service that the neighborhood family of 15 gets that sat right next to us this past trip... Being greeted like a long-lost family member. The food and drinks always fresh and delicious. The dance floor is a nice extra treat to cap a great meal. Ate there twice this trip. Remember they are closed Thursdays.

My husband and I originally discovered this restaurant in 2000 on a group trip. This is the best place to eat in Cozumel (and probably all of Mexico!). The food is fresh and freshly prepared. The menu is extensive as well. Fresh salsa with homemade chips, fresh and really tasty guacamole and lots of great menu choices. Along with great... More

This place is hard to find. How they could have three different streets in the same area named 80th I do not know. El Moro is a local place with a great menu and the waitstaff is excellent. Lisa had a fish dish broiled in a white sauce that would make you cuss in church. And I had the chicken... More

I was a member of a group of scuba divers visiting Cozumel in 2012 and again in 2013. We went to El Moro once in 2012 and loved it so much that we went back in May, 2013. We were trying to decide on which restaurant to go to for our last meal of the trip and finally all of... More
