Very nice, fine dining restaurant with traditional Indian cuisine, good menu selection, great service, excellent ambiance, and decent prices. Waitress was very helpful in pointing out the favorites and award winners. My wife and I had a bottle of wine, 2 shared appetizers and 2 shared dishes with large portion of home made naan, and were quite full afterwards, for... More

Went for lunch on a Wednesday; decent crowd there. Ordered from lunch menu & shared; upgraded to garlic naan. Plenty of food; comes with finely diced melon& strawberries. Waitress was outstanding!! For quality & quantity of food did not find pricey! Would certainly return on next visit to Edmonton.

Every time we are in Edmonton I must visit the Guru. I'm in love with their flavours of their wonderful food. The chef always comes out and ask us how our meal was. Such a nice touch. My kids love the Curry Chicken we just ask for it mild for them. It's expensive but worth it, and its such a... More

Guru has great ambience and good service. It looked like it has more Western clientele than that of Indian (did not see any Indians other than the one at front desk and chefs), hence we were skeptical if the food would taste authentic or not. Ordered Samosa, Palak Paneer, Dal and Roti. The food had good flavour and just right... More

This place has the best butter chicken in the city! The Cauliflower 65 appetizer recommended by the server was so good that we actually fought for the last few bits! Excellent decor, attentive staff and indian food done right! Maybe a bit on the pricier side but the food, service and ambience definitely worth every penny! Will be back soon! Call... More

My husband and a friend went dinner to guru and the atmosphere is inviting, food is tasty but prices are high!!! The 3 of us ate for $116 where as other Indian restaurants would have been half the price for the same tasting food. I am glad we visited the restaurant but probably won't return because of the high price.... More

The food at Guru was absolutely fantastic. Even with all of the competition in the surrounding areas (Dawaat, New Asian Village, etc.) this restaurant definitely has the best Indian food in town. The other reviews are correct though, the prices are quite high. Guru does lots of Groupon promotions though so I would watch for a deal if you're on... More

I had the pleasure of dining at the Guru Restaurant at noon with friends and family. We ordered vegetarian (3 dishes) and there was enough left over for another meal (I lucked out and took it home with me). The atmosphere is delightful (hard to believe it is on such a busy corner), parking plentiful, staff friendly and helpful. We... More

A nice atmosphere in the restaurant and I especially appreciated the lighting - the room was dark, but each table had a spot light above it, which made it easy to see the table. You order the entree, rice, naan, and what ever else you want separately, which wasn't exactly clear in the menu. The price of the entree seemed... More

I ordered from the lunch menu, which includes about 8 vegetarian and non- veg options. The portion size was adequate. Even though I asked them to spice up the dish to a 7 out of 10, it was not very spicy. As someone who loves Indian food and eats it regularly, I can say that the food was good but... More
