I recommend eating here for a few reasons. 1) The food was good (especially the biryani) 2) the service was excellent 3) prices were reasonable and 4) people watching from the second floor, looking down onto burrard street, was great! Service was very attentive, refilling water glasses whenever they were half-full.

I love to go in an Indian restaurant where Indians go with their families. This is a place like that. Service is friendly yet discrete, food is greatat decent prices. The wine menu is extensive but they are overpriced (nobody was drinking it I noticed). They should perhaps work on the lighting in the place as this is what ia... More

Overall: fairly quick, expensive for things that should be included, salty. Chai ($3CAD) was very nice, but a small cup with no refills offered. Mango lassi tasted as from a mix; sweet, very heavy on mix, could not taste yoghurt. Butter chicken was decent, very tomato-y, mild spice level was tasty and indeed fairly mild for heat-adverse kids. Lamb Saag... More

With its large Indian population, there are plenty of Indian restaurants in Vancouver, but most of them are small "hole in the wall" ones. For the better ones, some people rave about Vij's. I have not been there for a while, but when I did go on the previous visits to Vancouver, I was unhappy about having to stand for... More

Service and food above average - what cost them a star was the constant hovering over our table with body language indicating "leave now". The restaurant was quiet and it was not even nine in the evening.

The food was great and the staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring our young children got a mild curry - that they devoured. I would definitely come here again!

We had high expectations from previous reviews and whilst the food was OK, it was no more than average. The keema naan was unpleasant and whilst 3 of our dishes were alright, the chicken chettinad was very watery and fairly flavourless. Service was however good and the surroundings very pleasant.

We had a wonderful time at the beautiful restaurant Salam Bombay on a Thursday evening. The view from the second floor windows looks over to the Vancouver Fairmont. It gives an upbeat and interesting feel. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the service was excellent! We had Chicken Korma, Prawns Vindaloo, and one of the... More

This a must go if you're in Vancouver and craving to have some PROPER Indian food. The food here is amazing and the staff are very friendly. You're given a wide range of food to choose from, and you won't be disappointed with whatever you pick. Lamb Methi was outstanding... You won't find many restaurants like this in downtown Vancouver.... More

Fantastic, authentic Indian food!! Central location, easy to find, with very good service and fantastic food. Most enjoyable indian meal we've had for a long time. Highly recommended to all, couples and families alike.
