This pub is affiliated (and adjacent to) the Alexander Keith's Brewery. While the brewery tour was just OK, we very much enjoyed the Red Stag. Is one of my favourite places in Halifax to eat. The service is amazing. The food is so good. Usually end up getting the pan fried haddock with the homemade tartar sauce. Nachos are also amazing.

We had an amazing evening! The food was delicious, and generous portions (Southend Burger was huge and tasty!! The Maple Salmon was equally huge and tasty!!!) our service was incredible and the atmosphere was lovely, really nice live upbeat band playing great tunes. Really happy with our choice of venue for our date night :)

Good selection on the menu and specials each day. We had wraps wtih fries and both were very good. Good food, good service and great prices. No wonder it's been around so long!

“A private get together”

There were 4 families getting together for supper, we were able to reserve the upstairs so we could be together and the little ones would not bother the other patrons. Service and food were great. Over all a great family dinner, with a drink or two thrown in. Thanks Red Stag.

Our recent visit to the Red Stag was just what the doctor ordered. A Friday night after a long week, friends gathered around a table in a historic stone building. Cold drinks, good food and live music courtesy of Cory Tetford. Just right.

Love the atmosphere and the staff. The food was also delicious... it actually looks like the pictures that you see of it and is very tasty! Great place to go for good quality pub food (and beer, of course), with a group or not.

This is a good place to have a couple of (Alexander Keith's) beers and a burger. I enjoyed sitting at the bar and chatting with some of the others.
