One of the best meals I have had for a very reasonable price. I started with the soup of the day which was a puréed vegetable soup, followed by the braised lamb ( cooked to perfection)pappardelle and finished with a maple favored cream brûlée. ( finally a place that can cook a crime brûlée ). All of these and a... More

We stayed at Place D"Armes (loved it, will do a separate review on the hotel) and had dinner at Pain Beni our first night in Quebec City. It was wonderful. My husband raved about the beef carpaccio and the deer. I ordered the cod and it was fabulous Our server was friendly and went out of his way to make... More

Very weel located. Great food, Friendly staff. Very nice decor. You have the option of creating your own full course menu (petite table, grande table, little full), which is an original way of doing things in my opinion. My wife had the black cod and it was at the same time delicious and original. I had the cassoulet (which was... More

I had free breakfast with my stay at the hotel attached. The breakfast was a very decently proportioned, wonderfully tasting way to start my days. The restaurant was always full, and for good reason! Must visit while in Quebec City!

Dinner at Le Pain Beni (www.painbeni.com) proved to be the equivalence of a two-Michelin star restaurant. It was located a stone’s throw from Le Chậteau Frontenac in the Upper Town (Haute-Ville) section, and was connected to the Auberge Place d’Armes. The attractive décor was an eclectic combination of antiquities (such as the brick and stone walls that dated to the... More

My partner wanted to try this restaurant, and knowing he has a flair for finding very good places, I said yes even though the menu seemed a touch convoluted and I wasn't sure what I would want. But once the first bite was taken, I was sold. Whoever is in the kitchen there has a really good feel for putting... More

It was very clean and metro! The service was good and the breakfast selection was good. I had a continental breakfast which included 2 pieces of toasted, buttered baguette, fresh fruit and i ordered a side of scramble eggs which were amazing! the price was great too!

We discovered this restaurant while researching our weekend in Québec and actually stayed in the Auberge de la Place d'Armes, which is collocated with it. Small tables in a modern setting, but housed in a building dating back to the 18th century, with brick walls and large front windows. The boudin noir was divine -- a tasteful square of an... More

I don't like to give out 5 stars very often but I can't rave enough about this place. We had reservations on New Years Eve and figured the prices would be sky-high. Nope - same prices and still delicious, A+ food. Almost everything on the menu is locally sourced (even the wine... didn't even know there were vineyards in Quebec?)... More

We visited Pain Beni on our final night in Quebec City and considered this the best meal of our stay. The menu is not extensive, but includes some unique dishes. The lamb ravioli, venison, and maple apple upside down cake were particularly outstanding. The atmosphere was pleasing and the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this charming restaurant.
