Stopped by to eat and use the pool. No go for the latter - it's only for B&B guests ): However, the food was excellent - we had the avocado soup and the chicken breast, both of which were ample. It is not inexpensive, however - the main dish was 98 pesos. Ah, but you do get wifi for this... More

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is really appreciated. Sorry about the pool but before I started receiving guests as a B & B I used to let people take a dip as it did not interfere with anyone. In some guide books (which have not been updated for more than two years ) it... More

Here you can enjoy Mexican dishes but also you can take a break and explore an interesting list of other options. Return several times to try the different irresistible deserts and cocktails! Pleasant ambience, friendly staff and proprietor.

Though we didn't stay here, we had dinner twice and two boxed lunches for our daily explorations. Dinners were delicious and the owner very friendly. Excellent service as well. The boxed lunches were very good and generous, great sandwiches. Nothing to criticize really.

I wish to thank you for your review it was very welcoming. The first thing that was started before officially opening the restaurant ( the electricity was not brought in the time frame that one expected)were the boxed lunches. I put a clap board outside which drew attention to people passing by.We,ve come a long way since those days! But... More

Had dinner and breakfast at the Pickled Onion Restaurant. We were serenaded during a wonderful Mexican meal. All 6 of us enjoyed our meals. Drinks were good (try the large Margarita). We stayed at the B&B so breakfast was included. The plate of fruit was fresh, plentiful and varied; the breads and honey wonderful. Eggs could be ordered at a... More

Food at hotel restaurant was very good to our choice. There was plenty of domestic dishes, wihch we preferred, as we always stick to local food, and we like Mexican cuisine. And yes - fruits was all fresh! Literally, they were grown at local farms (local, I mean - cross the road) and were hanging probably just few hours ago... More

The Pickled Onion is a short ten minute drive from Uxmal and is definitely worth it. Nice outdoor dining room. Personal attention from Valerie, the British/Canadian owner. The food is excellent and uses only very fresh ingredients. Service is top notch. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

My spouse and I spent a night at the Pickled Onion while visiting Uxmal and part of the Ruta Puuc (it is right on the road between Uxmal and Kabah).
