Luke Dale-Roberts has two restaurants at the Old Biscuit Mill. I would say they are equally good food vise. Innovative combinations but not to the extreme and very, very tasty. Also more conservative eaters should dare to go. But not if you expect a traditional decor. This is industrial chic. The Pot Luck Club, is more of a tapas place... More

There are many wonderful restaurants in Cape Town but this one is among the leaders in imaginative excellent cooking. It is so popular if you want to eat dinner you need to book many weeks in advance. However, a winter weekday lunch was not a problem at short notice. The restaurant is quite tiny but crowded and buzzing. The service... More

Outstanding food, as judged by plate appeal, diversity of ingredients and flavours. Very attentive and well informed service. The restaurant seats only 80 people and with 22 staff the open plan layout buzzes! A must do, but do book well in advance

We did the 5 course pairing menu. The wine pairing was fantastic. The starters were great. Main courses disappointing. I sent my fish back it was undercooked. Desert ok. We eat out a lot . There are many many restaurants where I have eaten sublime food. Sadly this was not one of them. Not sure how it got its rating.... More

My colleague made a reservation a month in advance and we were only able to get in for lunch, so plan ahead. So many walk-ins were turned away... Perfect portions, everything incredibly tasty and interesting. Between the two of us, we tried to order each item on the tasting menu, so we didn't miss out on anything. We also tasted... More

We were booked in here in advance by the thoughtful managers of Kensington Place where Wes stayed otherwise we likely wouldn't have come but we were so grateful we did. Hidden away in the old biscuit mill in a seedy industrial part of town we were glad we took a cab out there. They have security parking though. The food... More

Creative, delicious food, great wines perfect service. Although the atmosphere is casual the food is elegant. The portions are just right and every bite is a delightful. Very impressive, I would eat here every meal if I lived in Cape Town!

In Feb '13 chef / patron, Luke Dale-Roberts, returned to his British roots to give his interpretation of modern British cuisine as part of a week of events held across Cape Town to promote British excellence. The Test Kitchen's diners as familiar with its excellent standards from the initial greeting to the explanation of Luke's fantastic creations. The special, limited... More

- Book early! But if you want to go urgently, try midweek and go on the waiting list. We got in that way after trying to book the day before. - Don't expect plush decor. It is harsh with wooden seats. The restuarant is open plan and bustles. Go somewhere else if you want "intimate". - The decor doesn't matter... More

The food was good however as a tasting menu, I felt it was a little cumbersome with flavours however will definitely go back! Very good wines.
