I don't like large amounts, so I generally go for a couple of starters. Here, I had the roast tomato soup. Totally divine. Also had the ham hock terrine: it came with a light salad and was absolutely delicious. Was so impressed I had the treacle smoked salmon: a very light option, and melt-in-the-mouth good....... enjoy!!!!!

I can very highly recommend The Henbury Lodge hotel. Our stay was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food served in the restaurant was also excellent. Our bedroom was very warm and comfortable with a very comfortable bed.

Home made yogurt and lemon curd at breakfast, the best I have ever tasted. Home made ice creams in some unusual flavours, all delicious.

We had a birthday meal here for five mid-week, and were fortunate enough to have this place to ourselves. Food quality was first class on the prix fixe menu, including starters of crayfish salad and a ham hock dish with homemade piccalilli. Mains also impressed, with fresh mullet, and guinea fowl in an excellent tarragon sauce. Drinks were a bit... More

Really good local produce cooked well. Ate everything. Lovely. Good menu selection but if you're staying for a long period you should note that the menu changes either monthly of fortnightly.

We used the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. There was a small but good choice, and the food was freshly cooked with none of that nouvelle cuisine nonsense. The main dish was accompanied by a generous sharing dish of vegetables. Service, by delightful young waitresses, was impeccable.

came to a friends wedding here. Found the house to be very dated. The toilets need some TLC. Bit of a let down. The dining room was very snug, but the food was ok. On the plus side the grounds (although not big) were nice. Found the service a bit hit and miss. Would I come here again.Sorry no!
