The Pheasant Inn is a small traditional pub with lots of character - it always seems to be busy, with tables being snapped up by reservations as the night goes on. If you don't get in early you may not find a place to sit immediately. We had the Sunday roast beef and the Lamb casserole - both were really... More

We stayed opposite this pub for a week and went there every night for a post hike beer. The atmosphere was super, always bustling with diners and drinkers alike this is a must for any Keswick visitors. The beer of course is Jennnings and the quality is excellent. The food is equally superb and they have a good regular menu... More

Recommended by our host, this is the sort of pub where the locals go out to eat! We went early Sunday evening and even at six o'clock every table was taken and they were busy serving. beware: book! Parking is a bit tricky so allow time to find a space on the main room, still only a few yards away.... More

Booking advisable for the restaurant. Sadly, dogs only allowed in the front bar area so get there early if you want to take your best friend with you. Good value meals. Too full after the mains to try a dessert but the next table said they were very happy with theirs. Sadly, food only served 12-2 or 6-9 and this... More

We booked a table knowing that this is a popular place having visited it a year or so earlier and it did not disappoint! Lovely cosy atmosphere, good service, tasty food- I had the baked Camembert (my favourite) and beef and ale pie, both were delicious. Great Jennings ale available. A very enjoyable meal all round

This pub would be perfect to eat at after a hard day walking on the fells unfortuntely for us we'd had a reletively easy day and we're looking for tasty food rather then quantity. The pheasant is very fairly priced and i would have no quarms going back for drinking and relaxing wiht the dogs after a hard days walk

Arrived late Friday for lunch, but where very helpful and asked if we ordered quickly we get our order in. The food arrived and it was extremely tasty, I had the Beef &Ale pie whilst my other half had the cheese Pie, was extremely difficult to say who won on that count, but what did win the red cabbage, which... We had a wonderful meal with proper children's meals (chicken fillets with pieces of chicken breast not mush, high quality sausage, hand cut chips). The service was faultless. This was a very busy weekend and they were still very welcoming. So good we went back the next day. Great value too.
