Description: Set inside London's most exclusive eco-friendly hotel, Rafael on the Left Bank, Banyan on the Thames is a chic restaurant overlooking the river and the London Helipad in Battersea. With so much action right outside its sound-proofed windows, this is a fantastic place to watch the world go by. And super-tanned sun-lovers adore the riverside roof terrace for summertime dining. The Hotel Rafayel is popular with an international, glamorous yet ecologically-sensitive set of travellers, and the Banyan on Thames is open to serve them and you - breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is a melange of European, Asian and Mediterranean flavours, fusion cuisine at its finest. Favourite dishes here include the duck confit in a ginger and lime sweet and sour sauce; the mango and papaya salad with curry chicken; and the Barcelona traditional fish soup. Banyan on the Thames makes the most of the peace and tranquillity of its ideal riverside location.

Three of us were present as part of anniversary celebrations. The booking process was very good via lastminute.com and we were welcomed warmly and seated promptly upon arrival at 7pm. Our table had a very good view of the Thames. However we were seated by a large and extremely noisey party and we could see that neighbouring diners were also... More

Had a wonderful time at the Banyan. As promised Anna made us feel special by decorating the table with banners etc. We were celebrating 2 birthdays. The Canadian and Scottish ladies in our party enjoyed the experience thoroughly. The food and drink were excellent.. The desserts were faultless. Will definitely visit again. The lady singer too was very very good... More

I liked the range of food including chinese indian and mediteranean. Sometimes this can be a bad sign but everything her was good. I enjoyed the jerk chicken and the mongolian lamb. There was a substantial discount when I went which is always nice. I had a great meal ad will return- one of the best hotel restaurants!

Stayed at the hotel right beside this - Hotel Verta by Rhombus. Needles to say if you read my review on the hotel you will understand why we ate here. Very good choice of food, lovely river view and ambience. Booked with the 50 % which meant the cost of the meal was excellent. Highly Reccomment

Lovely location. Our starters - scallops and chicken tikka - were delicious and got our hopes up for a wonderful meal. But for the main course, sadly the giant prawns weren't cooked, and the beef rendang was an unpalatable grey, bland, flavourless stew. The prawns were substituted with properly cooked ones and we were offered compensatory ice gream. I don't... More

We ate at the Banyan the other night and I don't like to give bad reviews so ill start with the positives. The setting is lovely right by the river and on a summers evening must be a delight. Staff we found to be excellent, friendly and efficient. Food, well mine anyway, was awful. Scallops tasted of nothing at all... More

I booked banyan on the Thames as a mothers day treat for my mother having had a great experience here last year. Well what a difference a year makes!!! Upon arriving I tried to book in at the desk and was told to just wait there a minute before being pointed towards the restaurant where we had to seat ourselves.... More

Visited this restaurant while staying at a local hotel. Food was excellent and service very good. We hadn't booked as we arrived very late to check in at the Hotel Rafayel. They serve food up to 10.30 pm and we arrived at 9.30 pm so were really impressed with the service and the food. We couldn't fault it

Its good, but Tea at the Waldorf it aint. My fiancée surprised me with Afternoon Tea at the Banyan and we were graced by sunshine as we sat alongside the huge panes of glass looking out onto the Thames. Now, this isn’t the most scenic spot of the river’s meandering journey but it is pleasant enough. That is until the... More

Went with my sisters for a birthday meal on Saturday 16 march. Excellent service, food amazing and great atmosphere! Having read some reviews the birthday girl was hesitant about going, however, so pleased we went. Staff extremely professional, attentive and friendly. Great cocktails and extensive wine list. Eat out a great deal in London and the food was to a... More
