Visited mid week in the early evening, already busy and filled up fast. Smart downstairs bar area leads to main restaurant. Prompt and attentive service from knowledgeable staff member ( Felipe). We tried the express menu, I had the potted Mackerel which was good, my wife the Caesar salad which was a plate of large leaves covered in cheese, sauce... More

We came to have a Sunday Roast. It was lovely. Service was excellent. The Sunday Roast is delicious, it comes with all the trimmings and gravy. Absolutely wonderful and tender meet. Will definitely come back!

I visited this restaurant on a busy Friday night and was massively impressed. The steaks were as you would expect them to be and the advice offered to one of our party regarding which cut to choose was informative in a non patronising way. The service is some of the best I have ever experienced, both knowledgeable and warming. I... More

This restaurant was highly recommended so was expecting something special but I found the food quite ordinary. I had the express 3 course menu. All portions were large. The potted mackerel was good but the toast too brittle. The steak was cooked according to request but was very chewy. The pepper sauce was tasteless. Dessert was tasty. Eating at lunchtime... More

This was the second time I visited this amazing restaurant and I wasen't dissapointed. My brother and I shared a chateubriand and I must say it was the best piece of meat I have ever tasted with handcut chips and peppercorn sauce it was divine. The service was flawless and very helpful, there was a nice and lively atmosphere and... More

This is the second time I have been to Hawksmoor, and haven eaten at all of the other top steak places in London, this still outweighs all of them. Lovely service and food. The cocktails per dinner, especially the Shaky Pete, are to die for. Lovely 600g Bone in Sirloin for me and 300g Fillet for my wife. And wow,... More

Arriving for an 8:30pm booking we walked down the stairs into the cellars and were instantly hit by the lively and vibrant atmosphere in the place. Tables were reasonably closely set but the overall level of buzz (or hubbub, if you prefer...) meant that you didn't feel your conversation was being overheard. The service was great - our waitress had... More

It was a birthday celebration and I new from a quick glacé at the menu it was going to be a expensive evening. Great selection of food and lovely environment with friendly staff. I ordered the roast scollops which were delicious and enjoyed my chocolate cup after cocktails and champagne. I chose the porterhouse steak as recommended it by a... More

Surely this is the steak venue that London has been short of for so long - and it's great to pay sensible prices rather than what I would call US Steakhouse prices, which are extortionate. The steak was excellent, and I found the supporting food and drink to be very good, as indeed was the service. My only reservation would... More
