Description: Set within 3 linked townhouses in well-heeled St. James's, The Stafford Hotel exudes an air of bygone gentility. Featuring an ivory and grey colour palette, rich floral fabrics, unique artwork, and a custom-crafted chandelier, The Lyttelton at The Stafford has been designed to evoke the feeling of dining in a friend's home. With a name that pays homage to the hotel's historical residents - in the 19th century the building was the private residence of Lord and Lady Lyttelton - the restaurant will move away from traditional fine dining to offer a casually elegant, welcoming atmosphere. The Lyttelton offers seasonal British cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with the ever popular afternoon tea. We also offer a fantastic set lunch and pre-theatre menu. Dishes like baked hake with sprout tops, English bacon and chestnuts will ensure guests taste something rarely seen elsewhere in the city; rustic interpretations of British cuisine that emphasise the season's best local produce.

We booked this restaurant because it came with a package from American Express. After doing some research I saw a very negative review in The Guardian paper. I really considered canceling based on this but am SO happy I didn't. The food was outstanding. Every dish we had was better than the next. I ordered the fish and it could... More

A hotel restaurant that understandably has limited usage. Waitresses do not understand English and cannot comprehend or execute orders. Food adequate though the recipe for a first course of potted seafood is unusual, to say the least. Go to The Ritz or to The Goring to see successful hotel restaurants operate. Restaurant lacks customers and ambience. A hotel of this... More

This is obviously a superb hotel, tucked away in SW1. Attentive staff and doorman available to assist out of a taxi. The food was very good indeed and we enjoyed all the courses. The wine list is extensive but not inexpensive and no wines by the glass and a limited selection of half bottles. Rose is fashionable but barely featured... More

Our hotel package at The Stafford included one meal which made this very affordable, but it was a very enjoyable meal. Good menu selections, terrific and attentive service. Great atmosphere, highly recommend it,

This was our first visit to the Lyttelton. I must commend the outstanding customer service - from placing the reservation through to the evening experience (and with a very nice attitude to our Amazon voucher - I haven't always found this to be the case in other restaurants). All of the staff were extremely welcoming and highly attentive without being... More

My wife and I went to visit the restaurant on a Travelzoo voucher. A glass of champagne plus free meals up to the value of £30 per course for a 3 course meal was a good deal but you pay extra for the sides and drinks. We chose a South African Sauvignon Blanc to accompany the meal and I did... More

This was our third trip to eat at the Lyttelton and it remains a favourite. We eat on Travelzoo vouchers which make it really affordable. The staff are all so helpful and really do not differentiate because you are eating on a bargain! It is a beautiful restaurant with comfortable chairs and lots of glass and silver. The waiters are... Visited The Lyttelton to use a Travelzoo voucher for 3 course dinner, with a glass of Champagne on arrival. This was great value. The dining area had the feel of the drawing room of a country house, in spite of being in central London. The service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. For starters, my guest and I chose... More

We dined here on a voucher deal. We arrived early and were directed to the hotel bar which had lots of atmosphere and a buzz. Drinks weren't cheap but the nibbles that accompanied them were good and topped up regularly. Our menu options were taken whilst we were in the bar and we were fetched for our first course. Dining... This restaurant is a very civilised place to enjoy a quiet lunch. The layout is a bit strange as it is not separated from the rest of the hotel or lounge area. So you get guests walking through on the way to the bar. The tables are quite close together so you can't be too raucous although we were rather.... More
