It was only yesterday that I had my Chinese wedding banquet here and the first thing I just had to do when I woke up this morning, is to write a review for this amazing restaurant. Being Chinese ourselves it is not often we go to a Chinese Restaurant where the food is as good as home cooking, all dishes... More

Booked a late lunch here on a Saturday afternoon, after reading favourable reviews here. Decor is brilliantly over-the-top, with loads of faux-gold & dark wood fittings, but the tables are rather close together. Service was courteous and fairly prompt, although it has to be said we ate at a very quiet time (around 16:30 - right at the end of... More

Popped into this restaurant with my husband on a Sunday night just before catching the Easybus to Gatwick as it's just round the corner. We absolutely love Chinese food but we're by no means connoisseurs. When we walked in we were quite taken by the decor; very grand, with a nice big dining area. We were greeting by a friendly... I've been going to phoenix palace for quite a few years now, but over the last year or two it has been getting worse and worse. The service is shocking now with the last visit waiters and manager refusing to change a dirty table cloth with clearly fresh food stains and the quality of the food was also very poor.....never... I have been here several times, and the quality has definitely declined. I really do not understand how anyone can claim this is the "best" Chinese restaurant in London. The food was poor to average, the prawn dish we had was really bad. It was expensive for what you get, and the service is poor. There are much better Chinese... More

My husband and I were looking for somewhere to eat and ran across this resturant. My husband even commented on the great decor. We had the dim sum, chicken satay, beef lo mein and the shrimp with ginger and pineapple. The meal and atmosphere were both very pleasant.

This is my favourite Chinese restaurant in London. Excellent food particularly the dim sum at lunch time.

Ridiculous queue on a Sunday afternoon. Person at reception was surly and unhelpful. Yes, there is a lot of crap dim sum in London but this place is nothing special. Service was abrupt, rushed and we're told that we have 1.5 hours for the table - such a typical London thing - you'd never find this in Hong Kong. We... More

Been here more times than I can count over a 5 year period. A consistently good restaurant that my family frequent and have received great service. I recommend ordering the whole deep fried prawns in egg yolk batter!

Visited on a Sunday night and it was very full, quite a lot of Chinese patrons - which was a good sign. We ordered 4 dishes plus rice and jasmine tea. First was fried udon noodles with venison which was really, really good! Then crisp-fried tofu with mixed seafood - a massive portion and also very good. Followed by beef... More
