Description: Word has spread like lightning about this Italian restaurant in Londons Fitzrovia just a few steps from Fitzroy Square. Sardo is one of the few restaurants in London that focuses on the cuisine of Sardinia, so you can expect consummately prepared authentic Sardinian specialties prepared by a Sardinian chef. Its all served by smiling staff in a relaxed, welcoming setting, and at prices that will remind you of your childhood holidays -- well very nearly. Start with Sardos thin-sliced sun-dried fillet of tuna on a bed of fresh French beans and sun-dried tomatoes, followed by hard-wheat pasta in a tomato and aromatic sausage sauce. Main courses include grilled swordfish with rucola and tomato, and sweets feature the sebadas, a puff pastry filled with pecorino cheese and topped with honey. The international wine list is strong on characterful Sardinian wines, the perfect accompaniment to a fabulous meal at Sardo restaurant.

An excellent Sardinian restaurant not far from Goodge St tube and Tottenham Court Road. While the restaurant atmosphere isn't anything special, and tables are a little too closely packed, food is consistently good and service is knowledgeable, friendly & responsive. A good choice for a relaxed special occasion.

Sardo is a restaurant I know well. It is a London restaurant specialising in the food of Sardinia rather then generic Italian food. If we are uncertain where to eat in London we usually go to Sardo. The good points about Sardo are that the food is very good, the food is true to its origin and since I have... More

Took friends to Sardo as we had had lovely meals on previous occasions. But this was a total disappointment. Food was variable - some dishes (squid, liver) were good, but pasta dishes were disappointing, and served lukewarm. Not all of us had starters, but there was a long wait for main course, which arrived 1hr 45 mins after we sat... More

Between London's Tottenham Court Road and Charlotte Street, Sardo is clearly popular with literary and PR folk. We went for lunch and it was packed and buzzing. Friendly and efficient service delivers some of the best Italian cooking you'll find anywhere. The only drawback was the noise, which seemed to resonate off the walls making this rather long and narrow... More

Stumbled upon this restaurant in Zagat -- fungi to die for, a waitress warm and cheering and tasteful as the food. A small, intimate spot off the beaten track and away --but not too far-- from the madding crowds of Charlotte Street. I couldn't believe our good luck in having a more than excellent meal at this homey place.

Sardo needs an injection of family. The homemade pasta is excellent, but it's a bit cold and aloof. We only had one course as it was so cold, under the air con, when we asked to be moved, there were no other tables (resturant only half full as it was 1800). So we ate fairly quickly with coats on -... More

We ate at Sardo last night with a group of friends. At 8pm there was only one main course special left. It was a duck breast which came with a lump of luke-warm, pre-cooked pasta. The starters were small. The waitress took away our credit cards to charge them (which is never supposed to happen) and she could not add... More
