Tried this pub several times since it was taken over but lacks character now, tried to be too upmarket with it's snacks of olives and sadly not going back again.
We visited on 23rd October and loved the food. You should try the hand made nacho's they were absolutely gorgeous. We also had pan fried salmon which was just as good. The service was great and the staff were really friendly. The pub is opposite the river so would be lovely in the summer. We had a really lovely evening... More
Having been recommended for it's good food, we booked for a Saturday evening, we were a party of six, greeted with a friendly, cheerful smile from a member of the staff. The Buck Inn is a typical local pub, with old furniture, the décor was fresh, with a relaxing atmosphere. The menu is varied with reasonable prices, and steaks served... More
Tues 12th nov. 30th anniversary meal. Although not everything on the menu was available and only one vegetarian option, the food we chose was very good quality. The barmaid/waitress was excellent at her job. She worked very hard to make our evening great. Which it was. We'll be back. :-)
I visited with some colleagues on a Wednesday evening and the pub was quiet. Thee is a good choice of food. I went for the ham hock terrine to start with and it was exceptionally tasty. For a main course I chose fish and chips. The fish batter was probably a little bit overcooked but the fish inside was tasty.... More
Visited mid week for a meal. Nice selection of wines, excellent selection of food we opted for crispy whitebait & ham hock terrine. Followed by Pork Belly & Salmon fillet. All cooked to perfection, full of flavor. Helpful freindly staff. A lovely little pub which looks out to the river. Perfect for a winters night out. Far better than it's... More
So, I found myself in Norwich this Monday afternoon. While walking to my hotel I passed a restaurant sign advertising their fish-and-chips. The Buck Inn. Having sampled many a f&c meal in my time and never been fully convinced, I decided to let another English pub have a go. So I returned a few hours later to sample an ale... More
We occasionally come here for food to get out of the city on a Monday night and sometimes join in the quiz. For a non-city pub to serve such a well thought out menu on a Monday is unusual. Sometimes menus can sound really nice and not live up to expectations. This is certainly NOT the case here! Dishes change... More
After being turned away by a nearby pub which was fully booked, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise! Staying In norwich for a family occasion, we weren't familiar with the area, but stumbled across the Buck Inn looking for somewhere to have a a sit down meal. The minute we arrived the staff greeted us with a... More
We booked late in the day but they were more than happy to accommodate us. The waiter was great and couldn't have been more helpful (even when we were a pain in [--]!) and the food, wow the food was amazing, so tasty and you could tell it was freshly home cooked. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.
