We have been going to Whitby for the past 3 years and never miss the chance to stop in to Teare Wood's. The first time we stopped in for a bite to eat we ordered a cheese and ham toastie. We expected the usual triangle with side salad so were delighted when it arrived as a rustic ciabatta with lean... More

This is the sort of place thas gives Britain its good name. It must be one of very few places that make their own ice cream from milk from their own farm and then produce milk shakes or ice cream floats flavoured by all the ice creams they sell.

Superb homemade ice cream, especially the Lavender, milkshakes straight from the heart, good ingredients, and happy quirky unique décor - somewhere that feels 1950s but with a modern twist. All cafes should have the great attitude and service friendly approach as these guys do. Needs to be promoted better and expanded around the country in my opinion!

Really friendly service in this small, but beautifully formed, ice cream parlour serving some really cracking flavours never tried before.

My daughter and I took our dog in here while visiting Whitby on a very cold day. The service was good, and dogs were very welcome, even a basket of dog-towels by the door!! Would definitely go back.

A welcome retreat from the cold & very dog friendly! Soups, snacks & sundaes - a lovely coffee haunt. Very friendly, happy staff. Well recommended.

On arriving in Whitby on a sunny but freezing April morn, the first thing on our minds was shelter first, warm food and drink second. We were attracted by the 'Dogs Welcome' photo in the window so nipped in to try it out. What a lovely place!! Great food (admittedly nothing more than Sausage butties and toasties) and nice drinks-hot... More

We visited Teare Wood's Ice Cream Parlour following a recommendation but found it to be an over-rated, very poor establishment. Abi, one of the staff was extremely rude and could do with lessons in customer service. We left feeling very disappointed as the "home made" ice cream and cakes turned out to be nothing special.
