All I can say is I am not sure why its only rated number 2 on Tripadvisor - so far and away the best in Bath - thats all you need to know except book well in advance!
We had the "alternative Christmas dinner" and the wine flight. The food was intricate, pretty and tasted superb. The wine with each course complemented the food perfectly. This is not gastro pub food but very reasonably priced (albeit not cheap) fine dining.
We visited on a Wednesday evening after waiting a few weeks for the table. It was a good experience but my partner and I both thought it was more of a one off experience rather than something we'd do regularly. For the price, the food is exceptional. We were slightly disappointed that we had two fish dishes that were quite... More
This was our second visit. The food was excellent, perfectly cooked with complicated, fresh and intense flavours all adding something to each dish. The wine (white and red) recommended by a very knowledgeable member of staff was spot on. After numerous courses it was good to feel full and totally satisfied but not uncomfortable as you can do in restaurants... More
Couldn't fault this! Incredible food, great service, different courses served at the right pace, nice atmosphere, and brilliant value for what you get. Can't wait to go again.
Amazing food. Its a shame about the location but definitely one of my favorite places to eat. I would recommend this place to everyone.
Before anything else the food here is faultless but it is let down by a few things. Heavy rock music was playing through inferior speakers upon our arrival, by the end of a long night I was convinced I had tinnitus. Four of us had waited for three months or so to try out this gaff which is definatley fine... More
We had a wonderful lunch on the weekend - cannot rave enough about the quality of the food and the fabulous menu. The flavors were amazing and varied. For £35 a head it felt like we should have paid 5 times as much. A true gastronomic gem in Bath.
I was taken here as lunchtime treat for my birthday. The walk from the station is not too far. However, it is uphill. The restaurant is not in a brilliant location but the food certainly makes up for it. We started with breads and taramasalata with a snail in crispy batter with a selection of oils and balsamic vinegar (superb).... More
Enjoyed a dinner here in October with my partner and my mother-in-law. Despite the MIL worrying for days about the possibility of getting something...."awful, you know like eel" she thoroughly enjoyed the eel-free experience. It's a tiny little place, but quite a nice atmosphere and the food was exciting and delicious. Highly recommended....with or without your MIL....!
