I took my elderly parents and 20 year-old son to Quay Ingredient one Saturday morning and we had a really delicious breakfast including eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausages, coffee, orange juice.... really good! The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly - just what you want for a relaxed morning. My only quibble was that I just wanted toast, and they didn't... More

Stopping in the nearby Malmaison, and I didn't fancy the overpriced breakfast on offer, so finding this ranked so highly on Trip Advisor I just had to have a look The breakfast is indeed great. I had boiled egg and soldiers with a nice pot of tea, followed by a pastry. The eggs benedict looks superb and the decor is... More

Quay ingredient is located near to the quayside under the Tyne Bridge. If your staying in a local hotel this is the place to go for breakfast, really good quality and sensible prices. I had a full breakfast, two eggs, local bacon and sausage, black pudding and toast, my partner had eggs benedict with bacon (others choices included Parma ham... More

We stayed at the Vermont, just round the corner (see separate review) and had breakfast at QI on our last morning, before driving home (to Hampshire). The food at QI is mostly locally-sourced – even the tea and coffees come from long-established local firms – and delicious. We had the Craster kippers, which were superb. The service is really friendly,... More

We decided to forego the Hotel breakfast and headed off to the Quayside for Breakfast. Quay Ingredient is one street up from the Quayside in a quiet cobbled area with street parking. It is tiny (4 tables and 2 coffee tables) but very clean and bright and all food is cooked to order. We ordered: Eggs Montreal (poached eggs, hollandaise... More

I visited here with 4 friends in Feb 2013 for brunch on a Sunday. It is a tiny little gem but only has a few tables so we have to wait for about 40mins for a table but it was absolutely worth it. The staff were very friendly and chatty. Between us we tried the full cooked breakfast, pulled pork,... More

Hiding beneath the Tyne Bridge this unassuming cafe is a gold mine. At under £7 for a Full English, that would be called an Olympic Breakfast at other establishments, it is amazing value for money. The only down side? Its' size. With seating for a maximum of 20 customers, you could be in for a wait fur a table. But... More

The decoration an atmosphere is nice. The waitress was very nice and helpful, although we sent her back and forward more than our fair share. I totally appreciate her patience. We had pancakes and an egg florentine. The food was very nice. Overall it was a good experience. I'll definitely recommend this place.

Great little place with nice charm to it and lovely staff that smile to you from early morning. It only has 6 tables to sometimes you have to wait outside but it's worth it.
