As Owner & Executive Chef, Ali Hussein's reputation at Cafe Bangla - is without doubt exemplary. We have dined here on a number of occasions and have never failed to be impressed. The menu is innovative - with produce being locally sourced. The food is fresh, cooked to perfection and always beautifully presented. On our last visit, we challenged Chef... More

Bought a meal voucher on Groupon, and had a very nice curry. I had a tikka platter (mixed kebab) as a starter which came with fresh salad and mint sauce. Followed by a chicken naga dish. Both were very fresh. The curry wasn't too heavy as some can be. Garlic naan bread was nice and not too stodgy. Waiting staff... More

I took some business colleagues here as it was highly recommended by several people. We were all thoroughly impressed. I had a mushroom starter and I have never tasted anything like it - absolutely delicious. I'm very picky about not wanting too much garlic or onion in dishes but there is a fantastic choice available to cater to most tastes.... More

..I use the title of Anthony Capellas novel..which Im sure most of you foodies have read..to head up this review..as the enticing menu and superbly presented food in Cafe Bangla could worthily take up a chapter.. ..little niggle first..bit of a nightmare with Living Social Vouchers..apparently not explained in depth to the owners..things like this can spoil the whole flow... Well, First impressions, they make your decission for you and Cafe Bangla certainly did not dissapoint! Small and individual to any other curry house that we have visited, it certainly boasts that unique touch. The food was heavenly, really tatsy and well presented. Priced well with good service we would certainly re visit. We have been to so many nice... More

On a quiet Monday evening, had a beautiful contemporary indian meal. Good service, wide range of meals, that bit different. New slant on the chilli lime dish with the poppadoms, very subtle. Not the usual Ocean Road portion size but more than adequate. Worth a visit.

Me and my partner have returned several times since our first visit at Cafe Bangla as we simply fell in love with the food. The atmosphere in this small but lovely decorated restaurant is very friendly and you're treated like a special guest from the moment you enter the place. The staff is very friendly, too, and always spot on.... More
