Top end of the Perth Road - nice little place to eat. Staff very friendly, prices fair - quality if food is very good. Authentic tasting indian food.
Would recommend the Malabar. Good food and service. Medium Lamb Bhuna very tasty and reasonably priced.
Lovely food, friendly service. The chicken tikka masala was real.... No bright red colouring. It was excellent food and good ambience. We would go back if ever in Dundee again.
Had a great meal here recently in this compact but friendly restaurant. Definitely different from the norm as far as "Indian" Restaurants are concerned. The food is very fresh and almost "healthier" in that they do not appear to use as much ghee in their cooking as others do. The main meals are excellent with great fresh spicy flavours. When... More
This is a great little place, not your regular Indian restaurant and no Indian staff as far as I could see! That said, the food was excellent, the atmosphere is very relaxed, prices very reasonable and the staff were very friendly. We'll be back here soon, that's for sure. One tip though, try to get a table in the upstairs... More
The title says it all! The food here is fantastic! Very tasty and does not bag you up like other Indian meals can. Reckon it's something to do with the ghee they put/use in their meals. A very friendly cosy restaurant that is suitable to any occasion .
Different from run of the mill places Vartameen fish fry with dal is good Usually place available unless weekends when reservation recommended Not the best around but a good one to have different tats once on a wee while Prawn items are good quality
Had first meal here with friends on Sat night. It's certainly not huge but that can add to and enhance the atmosphere. Not sure there's many or any Indian people working here but the food was good. Service was ok and when the place emptied a bit later on the evening it was a nice place to hang around. Would... More
I like the Malabar, but sometimes the service and food can be patchy. Best to avoid the place at peak times unless you're in a group. The food is usually well-cooked but can sometimes be a bit tasteless. It has the acoustics of a tiled victorian public convenience hosting a shouting match when there's a crowd.
