Attended Waxy's on the 27th of April for Eilis's leaving do. Had to be seated for 2pm but when everyone followed this request we were told by staff that food would not be coming out of the kitchen till 3pm. However, staff relented and started serving around 2.30. One of the starters in a pre-fixed menu (soup) out of a... More

Rude bartender. Did not agree his signs for kids was incorrect as there he claimed their sign was removed and the sign at their entrance was of a other hotel.

Eight of us had a meal here last weekend. Food was so tasty. I had the mussels in the big crock. Wow! Service was fast efficient and very friendly. The decor Is amazing. Lots of nooks and crannies. There was sport on downstairs and live music upstairs. Something for everyone. Can't wait to go back again soon.

Had a lunch date with friends the waitress was great and the atmosphere not to bad for a bar. The security guys were a bit overbearing when I had to go out side for fresh air with my wife. I found the Irish stew tasty but rather lacking in stew and heavy on gravy. The soda bread was great. Our... More

A really nice pub to just sit and relax, the music is great (brilliant mix of folk and the like) not to loud and out there to disturb or annoy you and the staff are excellent. I did have to wait a little time for my food, but this is to be forgiven as it was very good. All in... More

I had heard about Waxy O'Connors but had never been, having been given a voucher by the hotel we were staying in I thought we would give it a go. The location is great, close to a lot of city attractions, also close to both rail links. The themes inside are pretty impressive, there are 9 separate bars, each with... More

Many thanks for your nice review. I am glad you were impressed with the wonderful decor. I sorry that we disappointed you by not having a cocktail bar. Due to the layout of our bars it is not practical to serve cocktails. Our friends at Horton's Bar and Kitchen just up the street from us serve a fantastic selection of... More

Went for lunch yesterday, Saturday 27th April, works leaving do. Sorry, don't usually do this complaining thing, but that must be one of the worst lunches both I and my workmates have ever had. £20 set price menu - was not cheap for terrible food. Starter - Green soup, couldn't tell what kind it was, this was disgusting, none of... More

Nice set up, close to Queen street station and served a mean fresh orange and lemonade! There was nothing really to dislike, seemed like a friendly place.

The food served here was really good. (I've visited this pub several times and never been disapointed with it, even if I've ordered a bowl of chips or a balmoral chicken. The fish & chips are great too btw) The staff were polite & friendly and service was as quick as it could be at th ebar (even though it... More

the food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and it's a fine location in the heart of Glasgow City. the many levels and different seating areas are intriguing too. what really makes the place for me, though, is the music, especially the informal sessions of traditional music on Sunday afternoons. all these factors put a distincive and welcoming Glasgow stamp... We like to think our building offers something a little different to any place in Glasgow and try our best to have staff, food and music that reflects that. Great to hear people have had a great time with us and we hope you tell everyone to join you. See you soon and thanks. More
