A group of us recently went for a night out and the tapas were good standard and value. The steak with blue cheese was fab! The total cost was also really good value for what we had. Don't bother with deserts or Irish coffee. Not the restaurants strong point at all.

God bless the staff - they catered to our large group impeccably, I don't know how they kept the orders straight! Fantastic food, really superb. HUGE desserts! Huge! Will definitely come again!

4 of us went there the other night for my birthday it was my third time. It was a cold enough night but the bar was nice and cosey. The tapas as usuall were YUMMY, portion sizes are much bigger than normal tapas nibbles my favourities been the prawns, chicken skewers and the meat balls. Superb staff cannot say anything... More

This is a place that can be good or bad so its a bit of pot luck. Maybe I am being a bit tough on this place but I have eaten better tapas elsewhere and they have been consistently good so why can the grapevine not do this??

I have been to The Grapevine several times over the last while and have always enjoyed myself. In a large group, they have always done their best to accommodate and when its just me and the missus we can find a cosy corner to sit back and relax. There isn’t much else like this place in Kilkenny and they do... More

Recently returned here when we were back in KIlkenny for a weekend having had an excellent experience last time out in July of last year. We arrived at 5:15pm without reservation but only one other table was occupied so we thought it would be fine. We asked for a table for two and, after a bit of humming and hawing,... More

I had booked food to be collected at lunchtime on the Saturday and had been told to ring the day before to order which I did. On the day itself, I rang to say that I'd be 5 minutes late and was told that there was no note of my order. While the owner said that they'd put it on... More

We went with a group of 10 people and ended up at a table near the stairs in the way of people heading to the toilets. There were no chairs with backs left so some of the group had to sit on stools. The waitress was not very attentive as we had to ask for water twice. We ordered the... More

8 of us booked in for the early bird - most tapas €3.95. Place is cosy with a good atmosphere even on a Wednesday in January. Good selection of nibbles and wine! Had everything from the mixed nuts, prawns, bruschetta board, potatoes bravas with and without chorizo, mixed salad with mozzerella, chicken skewers were to die for.... Couldn't complain about...
