The special meat pies were excellent as was the antipasti and the fish dishes. Great ambiance and very amicable staff. If you are in the area, it is worth the visit.

Dined in a Friday night in mid april 2013. Though busy service was very good. Food was up to the usual standard but it was the waitress staff that made the whole experience enjoyable. Good value for money as we had a discount voucher.
We've been regular customers of the Hillside in the past few years, but sadly our last visit was a bit of a let down and I'm putting that down to too many people being crammed in. I noticed the Bar area was a very small indeed and badly lit, however the Restaurant part was a joy to...

We havent been in years due to a previous poor experience but thought we would give it another go and wished we hadnt bothered.
The children's menu is a bit strange with limited choices and unusual flavours added to what may otherwise be palatable to an under 5.
There is a huge variety on the menu which is great, however,...

Have visited a few times and always fairly disappointed. Its always ok. The place is cosy, but the staff never look happy to be there. The menu is nice looking but again the quality is hit and miss when served.
We are regular customers of the Hillside so we were looking forward to try the new "pie menu" on a Wednesday evening .My Wife and I both had Steak and Merlot wine pie with shallots .
We were very disappointed as the pie was mainly filled with onions and the Mediterranean vegetables were very onion based as well .We have...
