We read that Benoit was celebrating its 100th anniversary and decided to dine there for our 30th anniversary. They had a special 100th anniversary offering, and though pricey we both selected it and it was well worthwhile. We started with a champagne selected by the staff and moved through a number of courses - fois gras, beef bouillon, fish, scallops...

Benoit is a venerable bistro in the 4th Arr.just a block from the rue de Rivoli. It was my third meal there, the second since it was taken over by Alain Ducasse, uberchef-owner of many culinary landmarks. Its cassoulet remains a classic, but my most recent experience was flawed in two ways.
First, despite making the reservation several weeks in...

If William Shakespeare went for dinner at the Benoit he would certainly open his comments with the title of that famous play.
Anyway, my family and I (a party of five with 3 adults and 2 children) went there recently for dinner.
What a disappointment!
From the moment we arrived we noted that the staff attitude was presumptuous, i.e., nobody...

We went here for lunch. An amazing dining experience, service was amazing, wine recommendation from sommelier was perfect, and though an extensive and in some parts expensive list, was directed to a white on the cheaper side which was perfect for dinner. Service was attentive but not over bearing. Food was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Will undoubtedly return on...

Unfortunately I did not have a chance to eat there ,even though I had a reservation, because the welcome was horriblle and no English menu avalilable. Usually I want to know what I eat. Those Michelin stars shall be taken off.
This is overpriced but good quality food, let down by poor service, but only made good by them recognising that they had made a serious mistake and offering free champgne and dessert.
The starters cost up to 50 EUR per plate which was a lot for the starters, almost the same price as mains. The food was good but they...

A fantastic dining experience (although a little expensive). Beautiful food, wonderful servce, lovely decor. A birthday dinner for my wonderful wife !
Easy to imagine dining here a hundred years ago. Still a classic design and authentic French bistro cuisine. Starting with escargot and on to the lamb shoulder (not to be missed) and the best profiteroles ever! Everything was perfect. Eric speaks English and was a wonderful host!
Four of us dined here and we were all disappointed. The choice wasn't extensive, in fact it was almost minimal. It wasn't particularly comfortable and there isn't a lot of room at or between the tables. A couple of us had fish as a main course and the others lamb. It was OK, but that was all. Same goes for...
