We visited the restaurant twice it was so good! The food and wine were very tasty, cooked to order, well presented and reasonable priced, the restaurant atmosphere was welcoming. The waiter spoke good english and explained the menu in detail. We had a mis-bouche of crab mouse then the fish and the steak, cooked as requested. Having previously eaten in... More

We thought that this restaurant was brilliant because the service was very friendly (particularly with our two young daughters), the food was fresh and tasty and the atmosphere and interior cosy but modern. We will definitely go back again.

Very nice dinner here. The waiter spoke fluent English and was very helpful with the menu and helping our 6 yr old daughter find something to eat. Had the pâté which was well done and the duck which was perfectly cooked. Food was very good, service was attentive, and the ambience was very nice. What more can you ask for?... More

We stumbled across this gem tucked behind the gothic masterpiece of St Maclou. This restaurant wins you over with an abundance of 'kerb-appeal' and an intimate charm inside. Exposed beams, vintage photographs of Rouen and the chatter of happy diners. The food and atmosphere was fabulous. French locally-sourced quisine with an abundance of flavour at a really good price. Excellent... More

As things sometimes go, we found ourselves in Rouen, hungry and with no idea where to eat (excluding the regular junk food outlets of course). We found this nice looking side street, which as we quickly found out was filled with tourist-traps and take-away Italian places. Since we got there early, we were lucky to find a table for two... The desk clerk at the Mercure Rounen recommended the Auberge St-Maclou for dinner. The server was personable and prompt. The food was excellent. On a cold, wet, windy night it was a perfect refuge for two tired, hungry travelers. The dinner was grand, the wine excellent, but the helpful server made the night for us. We would highly recommend it.

We were in Rouen for 2 nights and chose this restaurant based on the good reviews. We were not disappointed. The staff, especially the host that evening, were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was delicious- we had the sauteed girondelles (mushrooms) in a white wine sauce, and their version of coquille saint jacques (scallops), over a wonderful rice blend... More

Having not been able to get into the first restaurant we tried, we took pot luck with St-Maclou and were so glad we did. The set menu, around 20 euros was superb value, interesting and delicious and in the most pleasant surroundings. The staff were delightful and helpful and after three courses, with wine, our bill was 54 euros.

Le Petite Auberge was full, and this restaurant Auburge Saint Maclon is just a few doors up on the same street. It was busy and the plat du jour looked lovely............ and it was. We sat outside under parasols, ordered 2 different meals, both were super. In the middle of the meal the heavens opened and we were swiftly re... More

We were in Rouen for Le Tour De Fance and picked out Auberge Saint Maclou as a possible place for an early supper on our first night of two in the city. We went for a quick beer a few doors down before the restaurant opened at seven. We hadn't eaten much that day so decided to go for three... More
