Great food, fun service. It wasn't too expensive, around €5 for a medium sized soup. No parking, possible wifi. It gets full around noon though. Def worth the visit!
This is a really typical, unpretentious German restaurant. Outdoor seating area is available, although too cool the night of our visit. Good selection of German food at reasonable prices Menus in a variety of languages and friendly / welcoming service. Had a regional specialty of pork shoulder (schaeufele) and a wheat beer - very nice. They accept VISA. Walk up... More
We ate lunch here after our visit to Kaiserburg just above this restaurant. It's at a very convenient location if you are visiting the castle. Food was pretty average. Potato soup with bratwurst was interesting. The outside seating gave a very nice atmosphere though it was quite chilly in the shade on this cool late September day. The menu is... More
Had a great day in Nuremberg and had a great lunch at the top of the mountain, food was very tasty nd the service was great, with a pleasant atmosphere. Would go there anytime again it was pretty special
There some better, more authentic places to experience the local kitchen, but what makes this restaurant special are the views over the Old Town you get from there. It offers reasonably priced franconian kitchen and my favorite local beer on tap - Zindorfer. In summer it has comfortable summer garden.
The restaurant is located next to the castle, the food was really nice- the soups were amazing- the waitress even she did not speak much English, she was very friendly and the decoration was ok.

The other reviewers seem to have missed out on the speciality of this restaurant - steaks served on special hot stone slabs. This is a special kind of stone that retains heat for a long time and the steaks (served by weight according to your... More
We found this hillside Gastatte on the way up to the castle and returned for dinner after our climb was complete. There was a slight chill in the late afternoon air so we opted to pass through the biergarten and eat inside. Despite the chill, the outdoor seating was filled to capacity while the indoor restaurant was completely empty. The... More
My wife & I had a nice dinner in the garden. Food was fine, the wine excellent, and the service was friendly. The indoor room is cozy & warm.
