Description: Wine bottles as far as the eye can see. The Kleines Jacob is more than just an offshoot of the top restaurant that lies opposite! The restaurant has an open-view kitchen with a stone oven, producing exquisite food, such as Flammkuchen. The staff are exceptionally friendly and give you all the time you need to enjoy your meal. Admire the walls which are decorated in cork and art work or sit and enjoy a cigarette in the large smokers' area. The restaurant is popular with hotel guests and anyone out walking along the banks of the river Elbe in Blankenese. The restaurant also offers a selection of European wine.

What a wonderful restaurant. I visited on a business trip, 3 of us had a table by the window. The service is impeccable and we had one of the 4 tasting menu's on offer. Before each course an appetiser was provided which were innovative and served in a vast array of fabulous plates. Everything was fresh, tasty and matched with... More

Whilst I enjoyed a few excellent meals at the LCJ in the past, I was left still hungry after a lengthy 6 course meal lasting for almost 2,5 hours with homeopathic portions. I did spend over €150 and was looking to fill up my stomach elsewhere afterwards.... Come on guys, this cannot be it! While the food was excellent, as... More

Visited on business with a group of 8 of us. We had the tasting menu with matching wines, sitting out on the terrace overlooking the river. The location is a little way out of town, however it gets the evening sun and looks out over the river, where you can see the large industrial ships that use Hamburg port, although... More

Beautiful old building along the Elbchausee (worth a drive at any time) and with classic style. This is where the locals go who come from "old money" and the atmosphere is accordingly.....food is traditional and good.

The good news first : Food quality, cooking and presentation is superb and the setting under the lime trees along the river pleasant in spite of the view which is of an Airbus factory over the water. The bad : When we repeatedly asked the sommelier for a wine suggestion he answered "I don't know, we have too many different... More

This restaurant is inside a hotel, so it was the reception manager which greeted us first. We were a table of three (later four), all quite experienced with being guests at high-end restaurants, but were genuinely surprised by the warmth, humor and general friendliness exercised by the staff throughout the entire evening. Chef Thomas Miller even took time to meet... More

This restaurant has just received its second Michelin Star and 17 Gault Millau points, which is well deserved and it was already obvious when we visited in August. Great atmosphere, impeccable service and fantastic food was the perfect match. Well done! We will be back!!!
