Six of ate at the restaurant on a Tuesday night and as we had a dog with us were seated in the bar. It was very quiet evening, but we had a super meal that was beautifully presented and cooked. Portion size was right for all of us - not large but with a starter we still managed to share...

From their website I discovered that they do a set price lunch, and the sample menu (it was different on the day) looked interesting.
There are only 2 choices per course, so if you are a bit selective in the dishes you like, and want a value lunch, then suggest you ring through to check. We aren't, so had one...

Just chanced on this place and were very glad we did. Four of us lunched very well with two beers and three glasses of wine all for less than 65 of our good old British quids! A nice experience - if we get hopelessly lost in the wilds of Suffolk again we would definitely go back!
We visited the restaurant on Sunday after meaning to go there for quite some time. I cannot fault the food at all, it was excellent and much larger portions than you would expect. Some equally good restaurants offer a better set price for Sunday lunch, but I didn't mind the cost as the quality was so good. The only thing...

The food was excellent and interesting. Not inexpensive - dinner and drinks for 5 circa Pds 200. Staff were good and we were persuaded to come back for dinner having just called in for a drink on the way to collect family.
This is our 3rd visit to the British Larder, we visited a couple of months ago on a Sunday for a birthday celebration, we enjoyed every course, especially roast beef which melts in mouth and puddings were delicious too, tricle tart, pannacotta all fantastic! Prices a little bit steep but well worth it! Keep up with good work BL!!
We had the most wonderful evening at this Restaurant and it is well worth a visit. The food is local, beautifully cooked and equally beautifully presented. The staff were attentive without being overwhelming and had a great knowledge of the food and wines they were presenting.
Whilst it was not the cheapest of meals every mouthful was worth it and...

We went there just after Easter for a belated birthday lunch. We had marked it down for a visit ever since It won on Britain's Best Dish last year.
It was everything we had anticipated Starter of pork tasting dish followed by smoked ham for me and steak for my wife all beautifully cooked. Too full for puds unfortunately, but...

Visited 1st (and last time) for lunch over Easter bank holiday. Inital impressions were of how many tables were crammed into the dining areas and the slight smell of drains about the place.
Menu obviously focussing on local this and local that with the result being assembling good ingredients as opposed to skillful cooking..... Prices quite steep; starter of 'pork...
