We planned an evening stroll in Trastevere and were delighted to find this friendly, authentic, family restaurant that was real value for money. My perfect Filet Mignon with cream and green pepper sauce cost a princely 15E and the excellent side salad 5E. Our order for two large Nastro Azzurro beers resulted in a long conversation with the waiter about... More

Some observations in no particular order after a dinner with friends. The service was fast but really not too courteous. The mushrooms on our pizza were not really fresh but rather coming from a can. The coffee was extremely poor. They had no draft beer but bottles only. And, almost incredible for a Pizzeria in Rome, they had no suppli'... More

Hi, we're regret for your negative review. But there are some points that we want to clarify: -The mushrooms in our pizza are fresh, 'cause we buying them every two days. -It was a case that coffee has been bad, but if you knew that to the staff, they could be bring back to you a new coffee. -The menù... This is a true gem if you like raditional Italian food. Carciofi alla giudia, radicchio con alici. hearty, real food. I have not tasted a pizza there but they look just right. My only concern is that such places will soon be extinct. Get a bottle of Sicilian Regaliali with your food - you will not be disappointed.

The food and house wine were delicious and it was great to sit by a log fire on a chilly evening. The service was a bit abrupt, plates whisked away before you had finished your mouthful but after we made it clear we would prefer not to be hurried, we were left alone. Reasonable prices and good food, just be... More

I have dined at La Tana dozens--maybe scores--of times over the last 7 years. It is probably not the best restaurant in Trastevere, and it is certainly not the least expensive (if you want very cheap pasta or pizza, other options are nearby) but it is consistently good and has a great atmosphere. La Tana serves all of the classic... More

Real Roman restaurants and restauranteurs know that you've come to eat good food in a place where you feel comfortable. And while you are polite and cordial to the waiters, and they to you, you haven't come to socialize with them or be entertained by them. In addition, they assume that you know what you like and will order it... More

Good location but the service was mediocre and the food was below average. The lamb I ordered had very little meat and it was a chore to scrape off what was there. My wife's meal was also very ordinary. The waiters are not attentive to the customers and appear to pay more attention to the crowds walking by. Too many... More

Food was okay. Tables are very close together to stuff in as many people as possible. Servers were very rude to non-locals and did not seem interested in your experience being pleasant.

I was in a party of four when we ate here. One dish was very good. Two were just ok and the fourth was very poor. My wife had a pork chop that was cooked dry and had no flavor left. When checking out, I had to visit the owner/manager inside the restaurant who was handling all of the money.... More
