I made on-line reservations after a friend returned from Rome raving about Ad Hoc (very convenient.) After being greeted by a lovely young woman and seated at our table, we were treated to a cold glass of white wine and a delicious amuse bouche. That set the stage for a wonderful meal- a bread basket filled with a wide variety... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and it was by far our favorite meal in Rome! We arrived and were immediately welcomed, our table was ready, and our server was extremely friendly. Our table was near the entrance, but I did notice what some of the other reviewers mentioned about it being open to the kitchen towards the back...... More

Ad Hoc was a WONDERFUL experience for our first night in Rome. The "tasting" menu offered some incredible options paired with excellent wine. I would definitely recommend going here...and I will definitely be back.

Based largely upon Trip Advisor reviews, my wife and I enjoyed a "farewell to Rome" dinner at this wonderful restaurant. We were not disappointed. The easy to find restaurant is simply, but elegantly decorated with a splendid display of its extensive wine collection. Small intimate dining tables are placed to allow easy movement with a degree of privacy. The menu... More

my and my family celebrated my mom's 65th brithday there on May 23rd. It was a surprise party for my mom which was very special since guests all over the world came to congratulate her. I booked Ad Hoc for this special occasion 3 weeks in advance (we were the large party as well). We spent 5 hours there!!! we... More

My husband and I ate here last week and thought it was wonderful. Food, wine, atmosphere and staff all excellent. We were given a complimentary drink on arrival and a bottle of wine when we left. We will certainly visit again when next in Rome and would highly recommend it, but do book in advance.

Ad Hoc serves thoughtful and delicious variations on traditional Roman fare. The room is about as charming and inviting as any I've been to in Rome -- and I've been to many. Wine menu impressed my very wine savvy friend who is very hard to impress. The four of us in our party would all recommend the tasting menu with... More

I can not say enough good things about the food, atmosphere, value, and staff at Ad Hoc. We had a wonderful time. We had a family vacation of 6 adults and they handled it and us beautifully. Book ahead and well in advance. It will be worth the planning and every Euro you spend. We travelled all around Italy, and... More

We walked in this Sunday and got the last unreserved table. We were lucky. They literally turned away the next 10 couples who walked in without a reservation so definitely make a reservation if you plan to dine there, and I recommend that you do! They start you off with a glass of Cava and a delicious Amuse Bouche. They... More

The Ad hoc is without doubt possibly the best restaurant in Rome...which is no mean feat. The decor, service, attention to detail, the knowledge of the friendly staff all make this an experience worth doing. Essential to book and reserve well ahead of going. Go as a special event..we went first night in Rome and no other restuarant we went... More
