Description: Osteria Pep is a wonderful little bistro minutes away from San Lorenzo central market in Florence. This unassuming Italian restaurant exudes warmth from the friendly welcome, to the traditional Tuscan wood furniture. The atmosphere at Osteria Pepo is different, depending on whether you visit the restaurant by day or night. Lunchtimes are typically rustic; tables are set with placemats. Come evening, a refined romance fills the air as tablecloths are laid and candles lit. Worthy of being described as home cooking, the restaurant Osteria Pepo menu scores highly for its Tuscan appetisers such as marinated herring. Follow with a traditional soup, or a meat dish from the From the casserole or From the frying pan sections. Bellissimo desserts are made every day perfect with a glass of sweet Vin Santo.

Small restaurant and gets quite busy during dinner, best go early (7pm) or book. portions are a bit on the small size but the prices are cheap so it not too bad. mains start from 9 euros, menu is not huge but all the dishes sounded good. Recommended HOWEVER there was one issue, as we waited out side for a... More

Loved the quaint eatery recommended by Rafaella from my Florence B&B. After we were seated, the staffs brought us a glass of wine each complimentary which was such a wonderful touch to our wonderful meal. Food is reasonably priced & service was good. Thanks for the wonderful meal.

We chose this restaurant on the last night of our few days spent in Florence and it was perfect. Just a few small tables in the restaurant added to the perfect atmosphere. Wonderful food... Great wine (and well priced) plus friendly service. It was all we could have asked for, and more. The only critique, is that our food came... More

Just stopped there from a recommendation and the place was so good! We had delicious Gnocci and fried poenta as a starter. Each was perfectly cooked. We then shared an authentic portion of Florentin steak which was enough to serve 6 people. Potatoes and fried vegetables rounded out an superb meal that was appreciated by all. Great house wine and... More

We had two lunches here during a recent visit to Florence. There is a nice seasonal menu that changes daily, taking full advantage of the market just steps away, The restaurant fills up quickly with a nice mix of tourists and locals. All of the staff had very good English and were friendly and helpful -- and the food cooked... More

This is a lovely restaurant for lunch. In the perfect location situated behind the San Lorenzo markets. I typically will dine for lunch after shopping at the Market. A vast selection of delicious starts and first course

We were recommended this restaurant from our hotel and we were lucky to get dinner without booking. The restaurant has a limited menu of typical Italian and Florentine dishes, predominantly meat (but vegos will find something on the menu with mushroom, tomato or bean dishes), and chianti wines. We had a risotto of the day (porcini) for starters which was... More

Amazing dinner I had just an hour ago - it was that good for me to review it immediately. We had a full meal there from wine to coffee. Complimentary prosecco was pretty good, light and easy to drink as an aperitif. We ordered the Tuscan platter - selection of cheese, prosciutto and salami - one of the best appetizers... More

Upon being seated at our table we were given a complimentatry glass of Processo. We would highly recommend the chicken 'cacciatora' style (the chicken fell off the bone), and the entrcote beef which was cooked to perfection. Medium rare meant medium rare, from the 1st to the last mouthfull. The house red wine was also excellent and great value at... More
