Description: Don't save La Cucina del Garga for your last day in Florence or you'll need to extend your stay for the irresistible second visit. Occupying the ground floor of a 14th century palazzo, La Cucina del Garga is a treat for eyes and palate. The proprietors' original paintings bring the dining room to life, while another kind of art is created in La Cucina del Garga's kitchen. The chaotic sounds of chopping and clanging, shouting and singing, all signal an authentic Italian kitchen in the charge of a seasoned maestro. At La Cucina del Garga, chefs Sharon Oddson and Giuliano Gargani have raised to an art the preparation of traditionally inspired Tuscan dishes from the finest local and seasonal ingredients. La Cucina del Garga offers cooking classes including one day in Florence and four-day and eight-day tours of Tuscany.

The food was excellent. The staff was very helpful and tolerated my poor Italian. Had excellent wine choices and a good variety of food on the menu

Positives: great interia, complimentary glass of prosecco and appetizer, food interesting and tasty, interesting and colorful interia. Negatives: update the menu on the website! Some dishes were different and we were disappointed that one we wanted was missing. Improve the service.. too many waiters hung around and we waited too long for our final bill (asked twice). But saying that... More

Ate here with a big group of expats who have lived in Italy for years, so very discriminating group. Alessandro prepared an extraordinary meal and disappointed no one. It's the little extra touches he adds to the usual suspects (like orange zest on the crostini di fegato) that make his dishes so special and able to delight the palates of... More

The food was excellent. The chicken avocado with truffle sauce was especially good. The servers seemed nice, but a bit scattered. Almost running into each other and leaving our table (which was right next to where they would walk by) ignored at times. One waitress seemed to be having an especially bad day. Slopply served the wine leaving drops running... More

We ate here last night and have Not stopped talking about it. The atmosphere, service, and food were out of this world. I have traveled all over and eaten many meals, and this is one of the best ones. The restaurant is on a inconspicuous street, but is right in the main part of Florence. Waitstaff spoke perfect English and... More

Good food, good wine and a nice atmosphere. The decor is quirky but the service is quite formal. We didn't find anywhere better to eat in Florence. Definitely recommend.

My boyfriend and I stumbled across this restaurant quite by accident on a recent trip to Florence and what a great little find! The decor is rather avant garde - think lots of modern art and interesting sculptures - the food was fabulous and the atmosphere relaxed. The owner speaks good English and was very helpful and interesting to talk... More

Garga still remains as one of the top of the list places to visit in Florence. Comical owners and staff really are lovely and make you laugh. Food is delicious a typical menu with a fusion twist. So glad they still have Pasta Donna Karen on the menu. My favorite!! Try Garga's signature salad served with avocado. Interested in a... More
