very comfortable restaurant with friendly waitstaff. fair number of vegetarian options, and while we weren't astounded, the meal was uniformly enjoyable.
A recommendation from our hotel who kindly booked a table for us. Glad they did or we would not have got one. Really popular place serving traditional Dutch fare. Friendly service in a relaxing atmosphere. Crème brulee delicious.
Chose this restaurant after seeing reviews on Tripadvisor and we weren't disappointed. Not cheap but the food was excellent, the service fantastic and the ambience great. Luckily within walking distance of the houseboat we were staying in.
This restaurant has a nice decoration and the service was excellent. However food wasn't extraordinary and I can easily say that you can have the same type of food in any average restaurant. If you are willing to pay up to 30 Euro to an average food, this restaurant will disappoint you because you will be paying 60 Euro instead!... More
Our Amsterdam experience was highlighted by this flawless restaurant. The presentation was a delight to the eye and the palate. We took a ton of photos of the food and will not bore you with those. Call in advance if you are able, but stop in early if you have no other choice.
Fairly fancy food -- nice breads/spreads, an amuse bouche, very sophisticated take on what sounds like down home/comfort food. Portions reasonable (that is, not too big). Big city prices. Wait staff was charming and attentive, but they never brought that glass of red that was supposed to go with my main course. Oh well. I didn't really miss it. Didn't... More
I started with a "Butterfly" aperitif . The mushroom soup was lovely, warming and earthy. I had the roast pork the first evening, and the roast duck the second evening. My husband had the wild boar starter the first evening. It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
I went with a group to that restaurant and everything was beyond expectations!! The quality of the food, the quality of service and the place in general. Group menus are usually boring however this one was excellent!! Hard to describe but I would recommend it to anyone! Additionally the story of the restaurant is beautiful! Family owned business and the... More
We went there for dinner with 3 friends. We offered some of their champagne cocktails to start. I had the Grand Marnier with Champagne ("Butterfly"). It was beautiful, so subtle! For starters we ordered 2 mushroom soups and 2 foie gras. Both options were an enchantment. The mushroom soup had a great texture and was very flavourful. The foie gras... More
