Max offered us a perfect introduction to Indonesian cuisine with their special "sampler" menu. Delicious! This informal, lively restaurant is not for the hard of hearing unless they want to eat great food and not converse. The staff was attentive and friendly.

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary with a weekend in Amsterdam and chose this restaurant due to the good reviews on Trip Advisor. The menu was interesting, the food was well presented and tasty and the service was excellent. It was a really good experience and we would revisit this restaurant on a future visit to Amsterdam

We had a delightful meal at Max, the staff were very friendly, the location perfect, lovely bright room with some outside seating as well. Food was fresh and well prepared. All good. Very good introduction to Indonesian cuisine as the food is an interesting mix of cultures, combining traditional and european flavours.

It took several attempt to finally get to Max's but the effort was worth it. The food is extremely good. The flavours were lively and the presentation was very good. The staff are very friendly and interactive. The price was reasonable for Amsterdam. Add it to your list of places to go for good food and service.
