This place looks nice but the food is not really great. The cheese salad is fine. I tried muscles several times and they are always sort of overcooked. Nice collection of beers though.

I visit often. Always a good place for conversation. Have enjoyed a wide selection of great beers. Bar service can be slow during busy times, but staff is very nice.

It's hard to deny that the cafe has a comprehensive selection of beers which is good. But I think its the general problem of dutch society they don't know how to serve and how to treat to the customer while s/he is being served.

This is a convenient location if you want a drink and a bite to eat in Leiden. Very large, so you're likely to find a place. Very large terrace in a courtyard for if the weather is nice. Fairly dark old fashioned interior.

excellent food, undoubtedly my first choice in Leiden, it was very fresh and good cooked ... and with an excellent high quality fine wine collection.

They have a lot of belgian beers but I don't think the atmosphere is that great inside. If it's warm enough, you can take a seat in the pleasant garden underneath a sequoia. The thing though are the prices which are rather steep. A Rochefort no10 will set you back 6,40 while you can get one of these at other... More

Lots and lots of different beers on offer. You can try then all, but probably not in one sitting...

The staff were very helpful and accommodated my wheat intolerance seamlessly! The waiter who served us spoke excellent English and was happy to speak to the chef to ensure my dinner would be wheat free. The beer matchings on the menu pair amazingly with the food - I would definitely recommend trying the spatchcock.

Nice place with a beautiful large court in the an old hospital. Great collection of belgian beers. The taste of the food (mainly diner) is not always to my likings.
