The food is on a par with a British Indian restaurant experience. The dumpling starters were a highlight. Reasonable prices in an expensive city. Food was slow coming but we didn't mind as poppadoms kept us going.

Wonderful food (very much like Indian but with more emphasis on a richer flavour as opposed to heat) with plenty of vegetarian options - a rarity in Iceland. Perfect naan, and I've had a lot of it. The staff were friendly though getting served was not exactly speedy, but the food was worth the (minimal) wait.
We wanted a restaurant which would allow 16 of us to sit together and talk without bothering other customers. The Kitchen had a room above the main restaurant which was ideal. We reconfigured the tables and ordered a set menu of 3 curry dishes (2 meat & one vegetables) with the usual starters of popadoms, dips etc. The food took...

We had dinner here early in our trip; little did I know it would be one of the few tastes of real spice I would have in Iceland. My husband and I shared dal and two vegetable dishes. The food was great, as was the service.
We enjoyed a variety of dishes at this Indian/Nepalese restaurant. The staff were very friendly although our food took a very long time to arrive (especially considering we were one of only three customers there). The food was delicious - we especially enjoyed the red curry, chicken biryani, and murgh tikka masala. The chef included extra rice for free, a...

I'd not been to Kitchen Eldhús for 3 years when I went there for my birthday a few days ago on a romantic date with my long term boyfriend. It was amazing 3 years ago and it is still amazing today.
The meal started off perfectly with a shared portion of Choyala as a starter. This dish was a texture...

The food at this place its superb and unique. There is a very personalized service from the staff. I was only in Reykjavik for 4 nights and I ate at this place twice. I'd recommend any of the lamb dishes which are the best I've ever tasted. Oh and make sure you wash it all down with Cobra beer!
Coming off a tour we wanted to grab a nice dinner close by and we noticed this Indian (but really Nepalese) restaurant. It was empty which scares some people but the menu looked great. A friendly staff member held our hand through all the options and every dish was amazing. We were licking our plates at the end. I rarely...

Kitchen Eldhus is a gem of a place in Reykjavik. The service and meal were outstanding. My wife and I are both vegans and I also don't eat oil. The owner was very understanding and prepared an awesome meal for us. Our non-vegan meat eating friend raved about his lamb dish. A very friendly and warm place to enjoy a...
