We went with the chef's recommendations...small fresh pasta plates - excellent - and my husband, who has been making his own fresh pasta for years (plus is quite a critical foodie!) also agreed. I sometimes get bored with the same flavour when some Italian restaurants give you a pile of pasta with the same flavour throughout - not here...we really... More

We were looking for something nice to cap off our trip to Vienna.. We wanted Italian after too many schnitzel.. People recommended this place near our hotel.. And we can only agree.. The food is excellent and the place is wonderfully simple.. No pretence, just good food and good ambience.. Even if you stay far away, come here at least... More

Pizzeria-osteria Da Giovanni is a quaint little Italian restaurant in Vienna. The chef is the owner and he's a very nice fellow from Tuscany. Some of the pastas are homemade and the pizza is thin and crispy. To start, I tried the bruschetta which was perfecto. The bread was perfectly toasted...not too soggy or too hard. The tomatoes were fresh... More

~ friendly staff ~ sober, but nice interior ~ appetizer was very good, but when you take also a main course, you could easly split it with your partner ~ pizza was delicious ~ all the food was freshly made ~ is not an expensive restaurant with great food

Food was delicious - Pizza, pasta, Carpaccio... Everything was really fresh and tasty. A wonderful atmosphere too - A small family place, clean and cosy, very kind and delightful staff and owners. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our time in this cosy restaurant. The food, though mainly focused on pizza, offered some nice alternatives as well as appetizers. The staff was warm and friendly and gave a real Italian family feel to the restaurant. The pizza, bruschetta and salad I has were of excellent quality.

This little restaurant a bit outside of the busiest part of Wien offers good home made pastas. However nicely mine was cooked it was very much under spiced. Waitress was unaware of everything, but luckily the host, who was also owner, cook, bartender and waiter, was very helpful. Considering all, only average.

I was reading great reviews of the food here and my expectations was probably too high. We ordered pizza and it was OK, too plain and tasteless for my taste, maybe the pasta is better. Though the food was average the rest was great. Good service and homely atmosphere. Its also quite cheap. The place only has about 10 tables... More

I was in Vienna for business. My hotel was close there and i was lucky. Because i ate best Diavola in the world. When i was in Italy, i ate same pizza but this was more delicious, more cheap and more quickly. Next time i ll be there again and again.

My wife and I spent three nights in VIenna in March. Stayed at the Hotel Alstadt. After a long day of walking thru the beautiful streets of Vienna, we were looking for anything decent, nearby. Pulled up trip advisor app and discovered this little gem. We strolled in early, before 7pm. Place was nearly empty. Quaint and cozy. We split... More
