We had 8 PM reservations here on Valentine's Day, and we were delayed significantly due to our stupid GPS routing us the wrong way to Bergen. We first called to delay the reservation and then cancelled. Upon finally arriving in Bergen and then getting turned away at other restaurants close to our inn we called back and asked if they... Spisekroken offers a traditional local cuisine with a touch of the chef's choice of combining local products and skills that makes the dishes semi-gourmet with a sophistication in taste. They have a la carte and the menu that changes everyday. The wine card is quite lovely and they a brewery of their own with two sorts of good beer. The... More

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place itself was cozy and charming - relaxed, not stuffy at all. The crayfish soup was excellent and not as heavy as the typical lobster or similar seafood bisque. The hake was good but slightly salty for my personal taste. It's not cheap but given Norway's prices - a good hearty meal... More

I only review places that I like, and Spisekroken is one of them. Spisekroken (The Dininig Nook) is a tiny restaurant at Klosteret in Bergen (nearby the once famous, now closed, French inspired gourmet restaurant, Munkestuen). Spisekroken was created sixteen years ago by a young and promising chef Ingvild Bøge, who managed (with modest means) to create an exceptional dining... More

The restaurant is located in an old building in a quite and nice residential area. The atmosphere is nice and warmed up by soft lights. We tried the Gourmet Veal, the kid and the duck, finding them delicious. The bottle of Barbera was really good, as well as the desserts (lemon cream and a very good smoked-panna cotta). Any negative... More

I have been and eaten at this resturant 3 times and the reason I come back is that the raw materials for the food and the food is often good. What I think was the most negative experience this time was that it felt a bit cramped between tables. The service was good but can be improved. The food was... More

I can't express how much me and my fiancé loved this restaurant! He booked it for me to celebrate my 30th birthday as part of a surprise trip to Bergen and the Naeroyfjord. There was a slightly funny/awkward moment at the start where we ordered 2 pepsi's and the waiter poured it into wine glasses (we were seemingly the only... More

We enjoyed a great meal in this boutique restaurant. The food is a world class carefully crafted to reflect the available local ingredients in the right portions. We had the veal, artichoke soup and locally brewed beer and can highly recommended all...They also have other local foods including Elk and reindeer. Located far enough away from the tourist traps (15... More

Having spent 7 days in Norway over New Year where we were shocked to find every decent restaurant shut for the duration it was with great relief we came across Spisekroken on Tripadvisor and found it to be open on January 4th. I had the 3 course special menu whilst my partner went for the fish soup from the "reasonable... More

I was looking for a Norwegian restaurant in which to celebrate my birthday on a trip to Bergen & Spisekroken didn't disappoint. We booked on the evening so didn't sit down until 9pm - as the restaurant was fully booked earlier in the evening - but it was worth the wait. My partner and I both opted for the set... More
