Description: The Oak Room offers an inspired Modern English menu enhanced by an exceptional wine list. Exposed oak beams complement its refined modern décor, whilst a large contemporary tapestry by Jennie Moncur adorns one of the walls. During the warmer months, the terraces enjoy unparalleled views of the magnificent gardens. Perched on the edge of the Saxon moat, the Moat Terrace is alfresco dining at its best.

We met an old friend here for lunch; taking advantage of the Four Course Menu at £28 pp, which included both an amuse bouche and pre dessert. The food was delicious and the hospitality second-to-none. On arrival, the scene is set as the imposing mansion comes into view, and on stepping through the arched 'door within a door' into the... Great maitre'de and the ribeye steak was succulent and very tasty. Great choice of deserts and wines and very reasonably priced.

Had dinner with some friends (who were our guests) in the recently opened Tudor room. Overall the experience was wonderful the food exquisite (4 course tasting menu) definitely recommend quail as the main course. The service at the table was perfect, not over attentive but there when needed to be. The restaurant is small but delightfully furnished and I love... More

Thank you for writing a review on your recent visit to The Tudor Room. Whilst I was pleased to read that you enjoyed the ambience of The Tudor Room, the food and in particular the quail I was disappointed that there appeared to be a mix up with whether your guests had arrived or not. I hope you will accept... More

My youngest daughter Emily has reached the age of 21 so we booked lunch at The Oak Room as we knew it had been recently updated and the menu changed. Everything was first class as usual, the staff were friendly and helpful as we had two babies with us , the food was exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed our re-visit.... More

Unhappily we did not get to take our tea in this room being shunted into another one instead. my wife chose this for my birthday treat as she had previously been impressed when she went there before with a group of friends. The restaurant gave the impression that we did not have a booking, but had just shown up. In... More

Superb food and presentation, friendly efficient staff. Great sommelier, very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a menu with an option of 2 or 3 courses which was surprisingly good value for the very high quality of food.

We had our wedding reception here many years ago and some great memories of this place from many subsequent visits so decided to book a significant wedding anniversary lunch with our family.
