We went along to learn how to make cocktails with Barcardi. We had a fantastic evening with lots of laughter. The evening was well organised, easy to book and we even left with party bags. Would definitely recommend this event to other people and excellent value for money.

really enjoyed our recent lunch with friends at the Kings Arms, great value, friendly atmosphere, the food was delicious as expected. My only complaint would be the limited selection of rose wines available, but this is the best all-round restaurant in Christchurch in my view.

We visited for a special occasion as we had been encouraged by previous posts, unfortunately we were disappointed. The bar service was polite although it took longer than it should have done for the lone barman to acknowledge that we and others were waiting to be served. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service was polite and attentive,... More

I stay at Kings quite a lot and have never had a bad experience. Rooms are lovely but I like those on 1st floor best. Very spacious with excellent beds. Food is good and at a reasonable price, especially as everything is locally sourced. We experienced the knife skills lunch this year and it was very useful. Also did the... More

My husband and I went to the Kings Arms Restaurant, Christchurch, last week which was holding special events as part of the Christchurch Food Festival. The evening we went was the Supper Club where Alex Aitken showed us how to cook the different dishes on the evening's menu. The dishes chosen for us were really delicious, the cannelloni of smoked... Missed this lunch last year so was delighted to be able attend in 2013.Excellent value and a superb demonstration of the use of knives, how to fillet a fish, fillet of beef and more importantly from my point of view, how to sharpen your knives.I was privileged enough to be given a personal knife sharpening demonstration with a whet' stone... This was are second visit with friends. We visited today, and had a demo from Ian the Head Chef as part of the Christchurch food festival. We were treated to 4 fish dishes, 3 of them cooked at the table with top tips on cooking and ingredients, each dish took less than 10 minutes all ingredients were locally sourced, fresh... More

Kidney starter very underdone. Had to be sent back. Delaying already very slow service. Party of four. Ribeye steak very underdone. Sent back. Then tough as old boots! My "ribs" main course was barely edible; appeared to have been stewed to death, then, on the outer skin, lathered with cheap BBQ sauce, perhaps flashed under grill. Outer skin was soft... More

I had a brilliant meal at The kings with my folks taking part in the 15 mile anniversary meal. It was great to see the chefs run through how and why they cook and prepare it and it tasted lovely and for only £15! Absolutely great value for money, atmosphere and great bluesy music in the background which I love.
